I haven’t formed an opinion yet on the second and third postings, but I have an opinion on your original post. And it can be summed up in three letters, WTH!!
Unless I’m missing something, I’m wondering what the hell was Steve Grad thinking?! I’d like to be wrong, but I can’t see how that’s an authentic MJ autograph. And even if it were, I wouldn’t want it. It’s just not very attractive, imo.
But honestly, I’ve never seen a Michael Jackson autograph that even closely resembles that one. So how that could be passed by Beckett is hard to understand.
I haven't either.
Jay,
Regarding the other two Michael Jacksons you posted, the stops and starts and lack of speed, especially in the small letters, are not characteristic of the MJs that I believe are genuine.
The seller of the MJ in the original post is a very ethical and careful dealer. His specialty is classic and vintage entertainment, though, and probably bought it based on the LOA alone.
I'll drop him a note.
The one in the OP was purchased in the March Brennan sale at RR:

I've never seen anything like it. Every other one I've seen in their Brennan sales looked right to me.
