Michael Jackson drawings (Miscell inc. 'Historic portraits' and 'Disney characters')

I'm noticing a sudden influx of MJ signed Michael Jackson drawings coming on to the auction market, which seem to share the common themes of either 'portraits of historical figures'  or 'Disney characters'.

Both of these themes are of course recognised from Michaels' drawings both at a young age and later in life, but it is interesting that so many new drawings are being released on to the market at the same time.

Here are some current examples:

LOL, That's the well-known 'Anagram Music Award' for sitarists....nearly.

Here is a new 'original MJ drawing' of Paul McCartney, size 14ins x 19 ins from bluelifesaver of Chicago, priced at $102.  This has a 'COA' from 'Studio Limited Editions'.  This seller previously offered a 'wrong leg' Mickey drawing for sale.

Here is the Paul McCartney drawing:

This is actually Erick again, 1000%     Pop this one onto his thread if you wouldn't mind :)  (use the exact wording please so we don't lose the info).   Keep it here as well though so we keep the bluelifesaver info on file as well.

Done :)

I am sure this one has been posted but I just viewed it on one of Julien's auction highlights page and wanted to share it. Is this one authentic?

Hi Chad,

This book, written by Michael, published back in 1988

Contains this drawing on the 2nd page (I just took the photo with my own camera, as I have the book).

Do you think the one they auctioned is the original or a tracing? The lines in the book look thicker than the Julien's item.

Juliens is more than likely a tracing.   If you look at them side by side you can see they are not the same, the ring finger area has a line on the Juliens one that goes too far onto the hand, lines that are drawn over a few times, dots on the pinky and thumb on Juliens, and not on the original, just to note a few things.

Nearly every single authentic MJ drawing out there has forgeries sold of it (tracings).

I believe you are correct. The glove was the thing standing out to me on the Julien's item. It looks clunky, drawn over multiple times in places and less professional. The page states it sold For: $43,750. Dang.

More Jackson items and art are shown here http://www.juliensauctions.com/highlights/2009.html

Finally, I can't tell if this is authentic or not but am amazed it sold for $294,000.00-

The basketball has a double L at the end of Michael and is the same signer that signed the Thriller Jacket which fetched 1,805,000.00 alone.

Another new drawing on ebay UK today, from maria_butterfly0152 of Oberhausen, Germany. This is offered starting at £1650, and appears to have a 'Vaccaro' LOA, although only half of the letter is visible.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MICHAEL-JACKSON-Signed-Drawing-Sketch-21x...

This outline of a head seems to be based on 'The power of thought' which I understand is an MJ original drawing.

There was a previous 'outline of a head' on cardboard (photo above), offered by maria_butterfly0152 last year, in October 14.

Another one of those fake Vaccaro letterheads.  Seen those quite a few times at GHR&R (Gotta have...)  Whats so disgusting to me, is that the people that keep recreating these were actually MJ fans at one time.  At least most of the ones I've run across to date were.  Or worse yet, very good friends.  (Bush and Klein come to mind)
