Michael Jackson drawings (Miscell inc. 'Historic portraits' and 'Disney characters')

I'm noticing a sudden influx of MJ signed Michael Jackson drawings coming on to the auction market, which seem to share the common themes of either 'portraits of historical figures'  or 'Disney characters'.

Both of these themes are of course recognised from Michaels' drawings both at a young age and later in life, but it is interesting that so many new drawings are being released on to the market at the same time.

Here are some current examples:

Ok thank you !

This next one seems to be a new style of 'MJ sketch', dated 1985, with a COA from 'The Prince of Cards'. (ebay UK)

Hi, what do you think of this ? :

I think a genuine drawing would be sold with clearer provenance and via a reputable auction house / dealer, rather than on ebay.  The provenance for this is extremely vague and uninformative...no statement about which 'memorabilia store' or what background they gave at the time of purchase.

'I bought there about ten years in London in a memorabilia store'. (sic)

I can't imagine MJ signing such a poor piece of 'art', and the condition of the paper looks rather poor too.

Sad to see another UK auction with some awful 'MJ drawings' included in the lots (Simon Parr again).

Lot 169

http://www.invaluable.co.uk/auction-lot/michael-jackson-signed-draw...

which looks remarkably similar to a 'Bob Kane' drawing of the Joker , Lot 177 (Eyebrows are drawn the same)

No, silly me. They were both drawn by Keith Haring (Lot 182)!  (Liberty mouth and joker mouth are very similar!)

I don't think this auctioneer has ever looked at genuine drawings by the artists whose 'work' they are selling in this auction.  I have been crying...with laughter!

Here is a signed 'Adam Hughes' wonderwoman , Lot 250 at the auction:

(It looks ' a bit similar' to the drawings above, No?)

(And then for comparison a real 'Adam Hughes' wonderwoman drawing:

And how could we not include Peter pan (Wendy and Tink) Yay!  Lot 309:

Plus our old friends ' the signed pillow / piece of cloth / any old piece of rubbish fabric we happen have lying around): see eg Lot 279, and last but not least Mickey, with a bit of gold and silver pen to make him even more 'valuable': Lot314

I've no idea who 'Bert Stern' is, but he sure has lousy taste in hand-drawn collectables.

Just an odd note: Lot 344 is a reproduction of a famous oil painting by Edward Hopper, called 'Nighthawks'.  The 'Condition Report says: Museum quality. The piece may differ slightly from the image shown as this is hand painted on consignment.

I have seen this wording on Chinese art reproductions, as they are painted to order.  I've never before seen this wording on an auction listing!

I nearly forgot, just to complete the supposed 'MJ' drawings at this auction, here is a blue snow white, Lot 78:

All of the MJs that I pulled of "Bert Sterns" are signed by the exact same forger who did these:

I have a whole folder of this guys junk.   And he just keeps churning them out.  I'm going to have to look up this person who is selling these.

I forgot to add this one...Never seen Michael doodle on a photo like this before:   Lot 57.

I apologize - I only saw a few items in the auction this morning.  There is a LOT of stuff in that auction.  And I only saw 1 maybe 2 items that were good.

There is even a Michael Bush forgery stuck in there, but no mention of Juliens on the item--OUCH!  Apparently they must be trying to keep the flies away.  http://www.invaluable.co.uk/auction-lot/michael-jackson-signed-bad-... :)

Its funny (but not) when you see the things that sold in one place, end up in another....

Same garbage just shifting around.
