On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

Looks good!

Excellent work guys! I'm so pleased and relieved to finally see the Media taking notice! I wish I had something to contribute besides praise for the work you've all done. The investigation and evidence hunting continues, but I hope the REAL investigation is going on behind the scenes by officials at this stage! Bravado mentioned "official channels"... yet we're still waiting, and the Estate remain silent! Truth always comes out in the end. To think Juliens could have saved themselves a lot of negative publicity if they had just listened to fans concerns from the start instead of rushing ahead with the auction blindly in a money-grabbing fashion.

i've emailed Felix directing him to the NBC links.. also kindly asking him to speak out now !

AWESOME good idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!  So I wonder, if Darren will really answer MJJ Collectors questions now.  He's more than likely got his hands full - he's also more than likely seen everyone calling him on his "poster" claim on FB.  If I was him, I'd be smart and throw Bush in front of me - right freakin now, and make him answer.  (that was gonna be one of my questions but I didn't want to push it--"why are you answering questions about items, when it should be Michael Bush". lol

so true.. wouldn't you just implicate Bush TODAY rather than go down with him..

Bush sure as hell won't care if it's just J.A. that end up in trouble..

I don't understand Darren at all. it's like he's dumb or something. i've asked him again and again how he could not listen to fans that were around Michael too and just trust in Bush so impeccably.

I'LL SAY IT AGAIN.. Bush has told me the most crazy outlandish lies in the past.. yes they may be fluffy.. but it DOES prove what his character is like.

i've said that all along and faking autographs is another form of lying.

But hes in too deep now because he was warned and didnt stop the sale. But yes, you would think hed be backtracking and saying he had no clue and he trusted Bush.

Justin, i dont know if you know, Darren is behind the book, Bush's book

This is fantastic news, Steve. I'm a pretty big MJ fan, but you guys in this thread have took being a fan to a whole new level. Proud of all of you guys.

Someone brought this to my attention this morning:

Lot 648 from the Tompkins & Bush sale was described as "MICHAEL JACKSON WHITE HOUSE JACKET." MJ visited President Bush at the White House in 1990. Here's a picture of them together:

Below is a shot of the jacket from the auction. Since Julien's filed a copyright infringement notice with our ISP and they took down all their images, I don't want to use the image from their site at this time (even though I legally can) so I captured it from a Facebook fan page:

See Lot 648 at Juliens.

Here's a close up of MJ wearing the jacket that day:

Does anyone else count 14 buttons on the jacket MJ was photographed wearing to the White House?

If 648 is the same jacket, why does it have 18 buttons?

And why is there red ornamentation on the collar of the one in the auction...but not on the one MJ is pictured in at the White House?

Lady Gaga paid $144,000 for Lot 648.

I think further investigation today showed that it was NOT the White House jacket, but the 1994 MTV appearance with Lisa-Marie instead. Still, it was misrepresented in the auction. But it looks to have been worn by Michael during THE KISS.  Funny how Bush took the broach from the White House jacket and stuck it on this jacket and called it the White House jacket. Looks like Bush and Julien's needs to work on their own provenance stories.

thank you Michelle, OMG THEY KEEP SHOWING THE FORGERIES EVERY TIME THERE ARE ADVERTS

If it was the jacket he wore to the '94 MTV VMAs, wouldn't it be worth a fraction of the one worn to the White House?
