On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.
Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.
Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.
If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/
Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.
Thanks for your help.

Those are nearly as bad as the ones in question that started this thread. Anybody fooled by those has no business buying sigs. Same goes for this auction IF it takes place. Shame on Julien's and whomever they hired to authenticate for them (if anyone at all). As bad as they are, I can only guess that with statements like "buyer should check provenance" the folks at Julien's are no longer interested (if they ever were) in their reputation for selling authentic items - just the commission cash-ola they get for brokering a deal between a fraud (consignor) and a mental midget (any prospective buyer dumb enough to bid).
this is common for all auction houses so J. can't be singled out
Jesse's reply reminded me: Here's a link to the cover story on Michael Jackson for a special issue we published in August 2009: http://autographmagazine.com/2010/01/michael-jackson-remembered-in-...

wow! have you guys seen this ??
Somebody posted a link to this guys website a week or so ago, with many items for sale. This guy is amazing, I don't understand how he got to meet all these people!
Just my 2 cents here: I have searched through many MJ autographs with dedications/notes and have not found anything with the e as a backwards 3 as seen in the Bush and Dennis dedications. Has anybody else found an authentic MJ note or dedication with the e as a backwards 3?
good call. never seen that. it looks hideous.
Sandy posted this photo http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/54642506?profile... it shows the uncommon for MJ capital E on energy.
I'd never knowingly seen it before myself until studying the Bush signatures.
Chloe i dont understand what you are relating to,
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=450583181645183&set=a.4... The "YES" on the left picture, and others, we had never seen MJ do the Capital E like that, a backwards 3, until Sandy posted her photo, where he did it on the word Energy.
