Musicians Who Sell Their Signatures In Shop.

We now have a Musician-Direct Autograph Sales Forum where you can post individual discussions of new offerings. It's a big change—and a big improvement. We closed this discussion after 8 years but it will always be available to read.

Though I recall a member posting a blog asking about this a while ago, I could not relocate it for my purpose in this discussion.

It can be nice when one stumbles upon a musician's shop (via their website), to see that they are selling their autographs. I figured this could grow as a wee database for listing those musicians who partake in this.

I recently recieved a couple press photos signed in ballpoint from John Mayall's website (http://www.johnmayall.com/merch.html). I am also aware that you can purchase signed CDs from Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits(http://peternoone.com/store/). John 5 ( formerly Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie guitarist) sells various items signed, with an option to dedicate.

So, does anyone else know of this being done by other musicians?

I slit mine on the side so the wrapping with signed still covers the Lp. Might be worth a little more but probably not much. At least you can make sure you got a nice graph. I can never resist and have to look at it. he signed so many maybe it will put the price of his graph and demand for it down ala Bruce Springsteen where as anybody that just wants the signature can obtain one now.

Wondering what thoughts you guys have on this.. I ordered a signed LP from Danzig's comic ebay shop (he has his own comic line). There were like 7 copies or so when I found it which are now all sold.out. the LP came and the signature looks like the marker was running out. It was $60. I emailed them and their response was that they don't have any more to swap it with which I get but I'm considering asking for a refund or swapping it with a signed poster. Wondering if I'm expecting too much knowing sometimes signed stuff arrives less than perfect or for that much money and having it obviously look different than the pic on ebay, do I have a right to ask for better or a refund?
On a side note.. I'm a huge Danzig fan and the last time.I met him, he used his security's sharpie which also was out of ink and you can barely see it so it's a bit of a touchy point for me, lol.

Hmm, being fussy about my graphs also, I understand you point. If they will trade for a signed poster I would go that way. If not and you're a big fan,might as well keep it.Always a risk with mass signed stuff. Ive gotten a smudged cd that I returned.Good luck!

Thanks Ian, I agree,.I've also become more picky particularly when im buying on ebay or paying a premium to buy direct from the artist (not just buying a cd and getting a free signed cover thrown in). I just figured if I bought from anyone else on ebay and it came in worse shape than described, I'd have a reason to request a refund. I appreciate your input

At least it has good contrast. I was expecting to click and see just about nothing - nice surprise although I fully understand your position.

I would return it. It is their responsibility to make sure that customers get what they paid for. Markers should have been new and ready to go. Unacceptable in my mind

Well got my Eric Johnson and John Mayall back. Newbury shipped on the 3rd via DHL and I just received it today. DHL listed it as sm pkg expedited.

Anyway sigs look nice.
