My new Prince signed "Purple Rain" 12" Maxi Single from 1984

I had never seen these before. It's a 12-inch (album size) "Purple Rain" single on side 1 with "God" on side 2. The album is purple! These were released in 1984, I believe.

The cover is titled "Prince and the Revolution" and below that "Purple Rain". Prince signed it in purple, "Love Prince". I think both the "Love" and "Prince" look pretty good.

I have pics below.

I'm pretty excited. It's got the full Prince autograph, plus it's signed in purple on a "Purple Rain" 12-inch titled "Prince and the Revolution" from 1984.

Hi James.
Is this the 1500 dollar lp of ebay?
Yes, it is.
You must have looked at it. What did you think of it?
Congratulations!
Did you get an opinion on it? Just curious.
No I didn't. I looked it over pretty well. And compared both the "Love" and "Prince". I thought they both looked good. In particular, Love looked spot-on to me. And I think the Prince looks really good as well. The framing shop has been in business since the 90s in SoCal, and looks like they have a good rep. They've had it in their possession for close to 20 years, although they did not personally get the autograph.

If it's real, and I think it is, I think the price was really good.
Looks real to me, the shop deals in sports memorabilia. But saying that im not a prince expert. Great price if its all legit.
I didn't feel like I had much time. I was afraid someone else might buy it if I waited too long.
You should get Epperson to look at it. Wouldnt hurt.

+1

Eric

Ya, you're right. I probably will.

what do you think about this lp, Steve?

I would still have time to get my money back if I needed to. But I do feel pretty good about. These are the things I like about it. The company has had it in their possession for close to 20 years. So if it's a forgery, it was done a long time ago, and not something that was attempted right after Prince's death. It was signed either sometime in the 90s or quite possibly in the 80s. And it's not signed on one of Prince's more recent albums. And most importantly, I think both parts look pretty good. And "Love" just looks so much like Prince's. And the flow is very good. On most of these forgeries it's pretty easy to tell I think.

But I agree, having Roger look at it would probably be a good idea.
