I don't know why dealers don't mention it but that is a much later signature. (the JSA). These are later "Anthony Perkins" signatures.
I think the fountain pen one above that Tom Kramer had was said to be earlier. Definitely not one of the secretarials that I had at one point.
He is already making a "V" out of the "P" which only becomes more pronounced.
Hi Terrier,
With the new data and personal photo signed to his wife in 1975 added today what do you make of the OP signature now?
Is this said to be a secretarial?
This is a good example to work from. I think you can see the subtle differences in this Playbill as opposed to the OP.
I do not. The playbill is 2-3 years later. I do see similarities in the construction of all, such the the "P" and how that evolved. The angle of the "a" in "all" etc.
You can see the progression of his signature in just these examples from the 80's, 70's and later. Some connectors and forms remain.
The reason the OP caught my eye was because I once had one of them in 8" x 10" like The Written Word one. I bought it as part of a lot of teen idol photos from that era back in the days when I was just starting to actively collect. Not one of my best purchases (unfortunately) but I was just starting out.
I eventually put it up on eBay for $20 I think. I might have taken $10 or $15 for it. It is a charming image but I did have it notated as a secretarial fan photo in the description.
