Recently Purchased this signed photo of Johnny Cash. Its a 1960's studio portrait signed in silver marker. It came with a COA from a Mark Chapman of Chapman Autographs. However I have never heard of him or the company. States that it was received through the mail. Here are some photos of the signature. I wondering if this is genuine or maybe a secretarial ?

I have strong doubts about this particular Cash signature. Too neat and clean in my opinion.

I was concerned at the neatness as well, but seeing how it had been supposedly obtained through mail that maybe it could be secretarial.

before johnny died he did  a large sit down signed  photo private deal out of nyc also rember the house of cash he sold signed photos all the time out of it.

I just listed a bunch of signed johnny here are some inperson examples

Chapman was known for gathering autographs personally. If this is a genuine signature it is probably from his younger years. He had a lot of tremor in his signatures later in life, thus a little more sloppy so to speak. His earlier signatures were cleaner and had good legibility. Check out some exemplars on line. Probably worth getting looked at.

That’s actually really good information. The COA look to be older, and I couldn’t find any information on Chapman online or anything about his company.
