Here is my 1948 still -  a key moment. Dobbs is dead and the gold is unattended.

What do folks think of first name only autographs such as this? It's not a messy "l" that is the loop of the f in "from"

Anyone?

Do you know who Bern is? It's a fine signed photo and surely to someone he knows.

Possibly, Paul Bern? That would make it a very interesting signed photo.

That would mean this SP has to be pre 1932 as Bern died in 1932. Excellent guess Joe - Bern directed Huston in 1932's Beast of the City. Now to date the photograph. Thank you!

You dated your photo circa 1945 which rules out Paul Bern. Just wondering how many people are named Bern? I do know Walter had some association with Paul Bern.

I'll have to look - it was a guess. The double weight and slight silvering at bottom suggest earlier.

This is Walter Huston in 1932 at 49:

And again in 1932:

And here he is in 1945 age 62:

It looks like my hypothesis is incorrect. There is another "Bern" lurking out there.

I'm not sure looking at the photos I just posted. His hair is graying in 1945.

The hair style is closer in the 45 versus the wavy 32.
