Thoughts on this? Looks no good to me. Anybody know any details on this?

Let us know how it turns out.
I have always questioned this guitar, even though it was sold by Heritage Auctions a few years ago. You are not the first.

Will do.
I’ve looked at a few signed Nirvana memorabilia and it’s very difficult to identify differences in the signatures. They all look bang on; my eye can’t spot any major shifts in style. Additionally, the Kurt signature(as far as guitars go) appears to always be on the scratch board and not the actual body of he guitar. As someone mentioned above providence is key, however do we look to the providence of the other signatures on the guitar (as the scratch plate could have been added) or a combination?
andy sorry u got caught up in this mess.
nirvana is very tricky and as I said most tpas wont even aucthenticate them because its so easy to fake so doing your home is everything.
there are real ones out there but very few especially on guitars and especaly on brand new clean ones as at the time i was basically the only one really doing guitars people really didn't do them otherwise u would see john with tons of pickguards and guitars.he has non people just didn't do them back them basically I was the only idiot running around with guitars all the time.
vance never borthered with them and I don't think mike w really did
so they are fr and few between that's why what ever u see are basicalyy beaten up signed guitars
I’ve emailed the firm I got it from and asked for providence. I’ll keep you guys in loop and feed back what happens.
I understand why you might question that guitar.
The Krist & Dave looks correct on the HA guitar. Not Kurt on the pick guard.
Andy B,
It will probably be a major battle to get a refund, but since the auction was part of a Rolling Stone event, I think you have a good chance.
I assure you, Rolling Stone did not know your Nirvana guitar might not be real. Whoever organized the event probably didn't know either, unless they used this charity auction company a number of times. Most charity auction companies supply forgeries, so I can't believe that the auction company doesn't know.
The members in this discussion hate to see people get burned and we'll do what we can to help you get a refund if you want it. You'll need to have your ducks in a row.
I'll help you through it if you want. It won't cost you anything. Email me at editor@autographmagazine.com.
The first thing you should do is to date the guitar by the guitar serial numbers. The go from there. All the best!!!
hey guys, I am in dialogue with Steve now. The website for the auction company is listed below. This is who provided the guitar to Rolling Stone for the event. http://www.doitlegendary.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=...
