I'm not a space collector, but like many have always wanted an Apollo 11 piece. Well I took a gamble on this item which I won in a recent auction. After opening the signed book up I found a paper COA from Novaspace Galleries for the Collins autograph, in people's view is this a reputable company? And does it add to the validity of that autograph? Thanks.

I agree, in that it bothered me the image on the COA is not that of my book, so either this was a sit-down signing session and Novaspace used a singular image for all pieces signed during that one session, or there is something not quite right about the COA.
By coincidence, I just picked up my Apollo 11 framed item this morning. You can compare the Collins, which was on a bookplate. The Aldrin was from a book, and the Armstrong is on an index card and has an LOA from Steve Zarelli.

Thanks for the image, they certainly look pretty close, but I have a very untrained eye on space autographs.
Yep, would be great if Steve Zarelli could give some insight.

Thanks for the email address, I'll send them a mail with my images and see if they get back.
I might be wrong about the owner being named Rob. I might be confusing him with someone else. In any case, I hope they get back to you and are able to shed some light on this.
Fingers crossed. I've just emailed them to ask, so will let you know if I get a reply. Thanks again.
Nate, good luck! and hopefully Steve Zarelli can straighten this out for you.
Thanks Robert.

Sorry, Ive been out for the day.I'm sure Steve will pop in sooner or later. I'm suspicious that the COA could be a copy and doesn't match the item which is a red flag. Nova is top notch which is why somebody would copy their COA.

Novaspace would always use a generic signing photo on their COAs. Unless you were the lucky one whose item is the one actually in the photo, they will not match.

NovaSpace does offer a "photo COA" of the astronaut signing and holding your exact item for an extra fee. This COA on this item is not one of those.

That certainly explains that then. Thanks Steve. Shame the COAs could be swapped around and not linked to specific pieces, that's a real issue (or I should say potential issue) with them.

NovaSpace conducts private signings, plus they would occasionally buy something on the secondary market and resell it with their certificate. To my knowledge, the private signing certificates always would indicate the date of the signing, thereby differentiating them from the generic COAs they issued for items they did not have signed.

While their private signing material is 100% solid, unfortunately there is no way to tie the certificate to a specific item. They could be swapped out.

Regarding the item in question, the Armstrong looks great. The Collins is consistent with the carefully applied full name signatures he would do for NovaSpace. I think Collins is ok, too.

The Buzz appears to be more carefully applied than I like to see, but it could be an effect of the scan that makes it look overly "heavy." Formation wise it is solid. I would have to see it in hand before I would write a letter for it, but I am leaning likely ok on Buzz.
