O.J. Simpson Commemorative Police Chase Wrist Watch with Autograph signature letter. Value??

Hello everyone,

Here is another recent Estate find of an O.J. Simpson Commemorative Police Chase Wrist Watch and autographed letter saying “Thanks for Believing in me”.

Does anyone have an idea of its worth /value?

I know that a new series about O.J is coming out on February 2nd.  And from what I have read online is that his popularity has decreased since the murder trails but his signature still holds some significate value?

Some people say his signature isn’t worth two cents while others protest it still has value. Despite my own personal feelings about O.J,   I believe this wristwatch is a unique collector’s piece and is a rare piece of history.  Any thoughts...

I can't believe he would authorize a watch like that. I also can't believe he was dumb enough to be involved in the "If I Did It" book. OJ is one of a kind.

I know right, he has a pretty big set of cojones… He is a total ego maniac and a narcissist who thought he was above reproach.

Although he was acquitted for murder, his true colors came out and he is now serving 33 years behind bars for committing other felonies such as kidnapping and arm robbery.

I'm sure there are buyers out there. I would never want something from a killers hand in my collection.

I live in Redlands CA. A friend of mine manages a restaurant in the area and he had someone offer him several hundred dollars for the health inspection card he had in the window. The inspection card was signed by the piece of **** who teamed up with his wife to kill half his co-workers at the County Health Department.

To his credit, my friend asked the person to leave.

Most people collect stamps or coins but I have heard of people who are fascinated with true crime “Murderabilia”.   I have seen Clown painting by psychopath John Wayne Gacy sell for $2,000- $4,500 each. Gacy actually has his own art exhibit.

I purchased the watch because I found it interesting that he had the audacity to have a watch manufactured with such graphics as the car scene chase; this was as if he was making fun of the murders.  He is a true psychopath with a narcissist God like complex.  I am sure that there are people who still believe that O.J. is innocent and may want this watch for their collection as a piece of history.

Kuddos to your friend!

I don't hold anything against people who collect things kinds of items. I think they are interesting, a part of history and certainly conversation pieces. I am just shocked OJ would be associated with a number of ventures that make him look even worse than he already does/did to so many people.

How much do they believe the watch and signature are worth?

I understand. Your right, that watch is truly an oddity. But so was the entire circus surrounding the trial. If I didn't watch the whole media circus in real time, I would be hard pressed to believe it was true.

Tough to price him. The media hype from the trial is far in the past, and his legacy as an athlete has been damaged by his actions in the past 20 years.  The market is limited any way you look at it.

I agree. I think it would be more of a cultural Americana collector as opposed to a sports collector. Maybe a crazy USC fan. But I can see an oddity collector placing it next to their fake shrunken head.

Good Morning everyone,

I am just doing a follow up on the O.J. Simpson watch.  I decided to post it on ebay with a buy it now price of $250.00,  the watch sold within a few minutes,   I may have under estimated the market value for such a unique item.  I guess the market for this type of memorabilia is strong.

With him back in the news recently, that probably helped.  Congrats on the sale.

Thank you...  I think it did help with the People vs O.J. Simpson crime story that just came out. I actually waiting for the TV movie to come out before I listed the watch.  However, I should of started the auction at $250 to see how it did, instead of listing it with a buy it now price.  Although,  I can't complain,  I only paid $10 dollars for the watch at a local garage sale.
