I acquired this piece in a lot of mostly '60s Baltimore Orioles memorabilia. Included were a handful of handwritten scorecards that featured Washington Senators games from 1944. This particular example is dated Juy 6 and 7, 1944. (front and back of page) The signatures are on the scorecard from the 6th. The Walter Johnson appears to be in period ink and the other five are in pencil. The Johnson appears to be smooth and similar to many of his later life autographs. The Mack also seems to be genuine with extremely conscientious hand writing. I did some research and found that there was a war relief game on July 7, 1944 and Walter Johnson pitched to Nick Altrock with Muddy Ruel catching as a pre-game entertainment. This explains why Johnson and Ruel would be available. The other Senators I feel comfortable are authentic as I primarily am a Senators collector and have several examples of each to compare to. The Mack autograph is a little bit of a mystery. The Senators played the White Sox on the 6th and the Browns on the 7th so I am not sure why Connie Mack would have been in attendance. It's possible that he was asked to sign at a later date, but it doesn't make sense since there isn't any connection to Mack or the A's on either score sheet.
I would appreciate opinions on the Johnson and Mack signatures.
Thank you!

Sorry, I don't know enough about Johnson to render an opinion one way or the other.
However, if it is authentic, it is a really nice quality signature. Good luck!
They look authentic .
