I was watching this oddity on ebay until it closed for just over £400 yesterday. It is a 1965 PC from Austria that was supposedly sent by Cynthia Lennon to her son Julian.

Everything looks great about it in terms of time and place (scene and postmark) but 1) I believe Julian was born in 1963 - making him two or so when this was sent. Would a mother send her two year old a PC? 2) The writing doesn't quite seem to match hers. If anything it has something of John's handwriting about it (e.g. the loop at the top of the "I"). 3) It looks like Julian's name has been written incorrectly as Julien. 4) The address is not that of the Lennons - perhaps it was housekeeper Dot's address but I couldn't find that out.

i think it could be real,,for one i know julian frequently got postcards from john during his younger years,,yes he would be only 2,,but i think the postcard is really meant for dott to interprete,  [master] implies youngster too,,the shape of her A  and c y n  is very consistent with her known signature in cynthia which is her common less formal signature,,,can never be 100 % sure but i lean towards genuine imo  a steal at a mere £400

also for it not to be real,,someone would have had to locate a 1960s stamped postcard that had gone through the postal system with nothing written on it,,, so they could fake the writing .........highly unlikely prospect,,therefore logic dictates it has to be real

Just wondering out loud. Would someone's Mom and Dad sign a postcard to their son using their first name?

I can see what you mean about the PC and postmark automan. Still a little odd to address it to a two year old and apparently spell his name wrong but I guess it was written in haste. Pretty boring view by the way.

Not sure £400 was really a steal given that we are talking Cyn rather than John but obviously it has historical interest given what was going on at the time (filming Help etc.).
