I would if they hear or see some names they will fail it regardless, me I would not waste the money either way.

Why do you consider it to be a waste of money?  I have a few items that I plan on sending in.

What are you talking about, a signed photo? If that's the case and you can remove the COA without causing any damage to the item, then you'd probably want to remove it anyway.

I don't know whether or not they'd be influenced by the COA—hopefully not. But David Wright, a member in New Zealand, posted several examples of PSA authenticating autographs David had already sent to Christopher Morales, a forensic document examiner who primarily works for the forgery industry. David had Morales authenticate them at a time he thought he was reputable. You'll see PSA/DNA stickers and Morales stickers on the same photo.

Get opinions on this site first if you want. There's a good chance you can find out if it's very likely genuine or not. And if it's not, you'll save yourself the authentication fee.

The COA is either glued or taped to the back of an 8x10 photo.  Removing it will not only damage the COA but may also damage the photo.  I can only hope that PSA will judge the item’s authenticity based on the signature alone and not on the name of the dealer if they even recognize it to begin with.  Looks like you guys are split over what they may do.  Thanks for the suggestions.

Steve is absolutely correct. Not only have I sent items pre-authenticated by Christopher Morales to PSA for further examination but I've also done that for several items that had PAAS authentication and GAI authentication. I don't wish to appear to be promoting ay individual TPA but I always like to speak as I have found so - from my personal experience - Steve Grad and the boys at PSA never appear to have been influenced, in either direction, by earlier authentications. I think that for the items like this that I have sent them ... they look at the signature\hand-writing and call 'em as they see 'em. Personally, I can't ask for them to be fairer than that.

I hope that little two-penny worth helps you make your decision.

Also, as Steve says, get some opinions here before.
