Garry King is well liked by some but I see a big problem with some of the items I see on his site. I'm not referring to Kenny Baker and other small bits but rather the large $$ music items.
Dealers in the UK might not be aware of current music item that they offer for sale. In another thread several autographs from Autografica were deemed fake. The items were Clint Eastwood, Charlton Heston and Harrison Ford.
He might not know there is a problem.

Good questions should be tough. Thanks for the info!!
I am exhausted by this thread. It appears to me that there are some decent people who have been in the autograph industry for many years who have made mistakes on both sides of the Atlantic that should not have to continue escalating their arguments because in the end nobody will win and the ones who will suffer the most are the collectors because they will never know what the truth really is. I applaud anyone who comes on this website and speaks their mind because as many of us know AFTAL are not the only ones who ban people. I would also like to point out that we have been told to wait “a few more days” for weeks now and regardless of what any official statement will reveal it will simply result in an increased escalation of this discussion beyond anything that is reasonable.
I actually think that the civil discussion has shown collectors who some of the upstanding dealers are as well as who they need to avoid. There has been a LOT of good information shared by our UK friends.
It's great to know that not every dealer bends to the will of the AFTAL Board. It's just sad that it went so pear shaped to begin with.
It's sad to find out someone you have known and collected with for many years has turned bad. I have had it happen to me at least 3 different times and one was my best friend in collecting. We chased everyone together, then he got greedy, then I called him out. I have seen him maybe twice in the last 15 years since that happened. You have to open your eyes and see it. Bill Linehan was one of my closest dealer friends and he turned into a forger. He had great stuff and was very well respected for years. I don't know what made him do it but I did call him out too. I had to open my eyes and not listen to the BS that I was being told. The autographs spoke for themselves. Ken I'm sorry to hear this about your friend but the facts are the facts. Those MJ's from Adrian are not authentic. I have proved it over and over again.

I didn't expect to be listened to and felt I was laying myself wide open for further criticism so allowed myself that luxury. I have been pleasantly surprised - so far !
Incidently, had he called your autographs bad, what would your opinion of him been then?
I would have called him a ' Tosser ' because I knew he was wrong - wouldn't you ?

How infuriating do you think it is for AFTAL members to hear via your forum that a Statement is imminent when people like myself who have been financially and reputationally wounded by all this haven't heard this from the Organisation who wants their membership subscription, and who haven't so much as e-mailed me to keep me in the loop since their infamous ' without doubt they are authentic ' statement ?

Roger - Thank you for not judging me on here as others do - I now accept what you are saying.
Ken,
No problem, I'm not this horrible, mean person some creepers make me out to look like. I just know exactly how you feel, thats the truth. It sucks to think someone you have trusted so closely would turn on you for money. It took me a while too the first time it happened to me for me to actually believe that my friend really did screw me. I like the "tosser" part too! That's pretty funny.
Roger
Some of the Worldwide followers of this thread will not understand the word ''Tosser '
Are you going to explain it !
haha'
For those still uncertain here is the definitive answer.
Even in the UK they toss before adding syrup.
Nice try Steve.
That was funny Ken. I'm not being sarcastic.
But seriously - this was more the definition that would have been more appropriate but thankfully not necessary.
Noun | 1. | tosser- terms of abuse for a masturbator
masturbator, onanist - a person who practices masturbation
