has anyone got an opinion in the signed photos that have been sent out with these bundles... some look like Robbie's autograph but some are a letter R and a star.... The letter R doesn't look the same across various examples (and none look like his) and drawing the star would probably take longer than his usual R and squiggle?

I don't know, for me it's inconclusive.
Why it could be his signature;
- I think the R is not that different
- If you were going to fake it, would you create such an obviously different signature? Sometimes artists get bored and mix it up themselves.
- Some of the R-star signed cards have his kids signatures on them too.
- In the preview video of "Life Thru A Lens" he is signing with R-star.
Why it could be secretarial
- The Life Thru a Lens vinyl is signed differently than the in-hand ones (big and in black instead of neatly in silver in a corner)
- The signatures of the kids could be to make us believe these are real
That would mean it's a deliberate effort by him personally, not just his record company, to "sell" his fans on these fake signatures.
