I have recently come across this collection while helping an elderly friend clean out her office.

She was an advertising executive and worked on/contributed to his campaigns, and had also

bought some of the items.

She would like to sell them, but I am having difficulty valuing them, especially the check which

I have found similar sold at auction in the past few years for $1100-$1600, but have found

one currently listed for sale at $6320 discounted from $7999!  I also haven't found a copy of

the book "The Uncommon Wisdom of Ronald Reagan" with his autograph, or the first day

cover of Grace Kelly with his autograph.  The small photograph inscribed on the back I can't

tell if it is in pen or if it was printed.  The 8x10 photograph with printed note and

auto-penned signature has been damaged when it fell off the wall and its glass broke.   She

also has several other Reagan items including a flyer for his visit to Dayton, Ohio, a poster for

his visit to Clearwater, Fl, a 1956 yearbook from Eureka College with two pages dedicated to

Dutch's Return, a boxed set of Air Force One playing cards given to her on a visit to the White

House, a couple of postcards, the book "Quotable Reagan" and an audiotape "Ronald Reagan,

An American Life", neither autographed.

I am not sure if these are more valuable as a collection or individually.  Any help would be

greatly appreciated as the owner is on a fixed income and I would like to get the most for her

I would mail photos of the collection to a couple national auction houses, see what they say and check the expense of selling with them. It does not take much time and you will gain knowledge about the items.

You can always ebay the lot and see what happens. Ebay is a quick and comparatively inexpensive way to sell. The market will tell you what it is worth.

Some of the items in the collection have almost no value while others are quite nice. I personally would save myself the hassle and sell it all together.

Regrettably, these items are Autopens, pre-prints or suspect in my opinion. The presidential pose is Autopen, the one signed on the back and the thank you for the support are pre-prints I believe.

I would send the signed book and postal cover to someone who specializes in presidential material, but I suspect the results are not going to be positive.

If you are looking to sell, send the images to RR Auction and ask if they would take the consignments. If the answer is, "no," there is your answer. If they do prove to be authentic, RR will get you strong pricing and even with seller's commission, you'd probably do better than doing it yourself on eBay.

As a full disclaimer, I am the space and aviation consultant to RR Auction.

I thought the postal cover was good. I would not expect a huge amount out of the collection.

Of the ones I can see on the photos they are all autopen or preprints
