Hi there,

A few days ago I started a topic on Max Weinberg's autograph. I had no responses, so I suppose few members of this forum have sufficient experience with Max's autograph to respond to the topic.

I kept searching for an autograph of Max, and was confused to find the same item (with PSA COA) on different sites, and at markably different price points:

http://www.amazon.com/Weinberg-Springsteen-Street-Signed-Autograp/d...

I was just wondering how this is possible? I post this as a general topic, because it struck me as a strange practice, which might be relevant to others. Does anyone here know the sellers? Who is to be trusted? How is it possible that the same item is offered by different sellers?

Thanks!

I am not speaking to this exact situation, but I see this sort of thing all the time. Multiples at different price point, the various eBay entities and other auction sites - same seller name and different sometimes. I wrote in here somewhere a checklist of things to do when buying, and looking for "it"  cheaper elsewhere was one of them. It's like how some dealers offer "X" on the site for $200 and on eBay for $275...

It's called dropshipping. The Amazon seller doesn't own the item. If someone purchases it, they will in turn purchase it from the owner and make a profit.

...and then there is the scenario Ballroom67 illustrates (thanks!), likely quite prevalent. Little overhead...Grrr.

This happens in coins a lot and other areas as well I am sure.

Thanks for giving me some insight. If I understand correctly, both sellers might be trustworthy. It's quite remarkable that the Ebay seller is happy with a (much) smaller profit... Maybe it's too good to be true?

Does anyone have any experience with these sellers?

Thanks again!
