I like your price point Mike...I payed for both of those great HOF Players last week for less then what one Jeter piece would cost from Steiner....but I think the reason Jeters auto is so much is BECAUSE of Steiner...they inflated his auto value insanely in the last 10 years...As nice as Andrews piece is in my opinion a Jeter auto in reality should be between 150 to 200 on any item...but its STEINER that made prices on Jeters items sky rocket...its insane the prices Steiner asks for Dereks auto...but its not the collectors fault that Steiner items have to be sold for so much money...Its Steiners fault...its almost impossible to sell a Steiner certified Jeter for any less...I still do not own any Jeter Steiner certified signed anything

Are people REALLY paying that much for these?  I see Munsons, Clemente's, Mantles etc on ebay (real ones) with insane buy it now price tags, and they are just sitting there.  As for a Jeter ball for $649, I would rather spend that money on a Ted Williams Joe Cronin ball, and Joe Dimaggio ball, which combined I could get for what that one Jeter ball is "selling" (or should I say sitting) for.  Or one clean, mint Mantle ball.

Guys,

I think people have to feel safe posting legitimate things without being beaten up on. You're not talking about authenticity, you're talking about pricing. I think we need to set up some rules and draw lines about what should be discussed where. For instance, the pricing of private signings, whether by Steiner or another company, is a great topic—piece by piece or in general. But in the right place.

We don't serve collectors' needs when they are afraid to post because they think they'll get beaten up on. And Mike...you're sometimes really hard on posters.

I think it's time to start an etiquette and rules discussion. Going to ask someone to do that.

Mike,

I'm sorry, but this is everyone's community, not just yours. Consideration for other members is important.

Good luck and take care. I'll close your account.

Steve
