I assume youre seeing the one for sale on Ebay? Troubling, but I would need to see more to be convinced the whole lot will be machined.

Has Barnes and Noble or any major ever had an autopen controversy with “Signed Editions” ?

I haven't looked at the O'Connor book, so I have no idea about autopens right now.

However, to answer your question - Yes, B&N has had autopenned books before. Seth MacFarlane and Reese Witherspoon's are the first to come to mind, but there have been multiple.

I wasnt aware, so thank you for that info. The one on Ebay currently doesn’t have the typical stickering on the front indicating an official signed copy. Hard to make heads or tails of it at this point.

Yeah, if you mean the one from the UK seller who has 3 copies (that's the only one I saw with a picture), then I have no idea. It looks like it's signed on a tip-in which would make sense for a publisher-sourced signed book?

These books have been offered everywhere. In the US B&N and I think BAM had them, plus independent bookstores, and in the UK Waterstones and UK indies sold them. Some publisher-direct books come with stickers straight from the distributor, some don't (and then the retailer affixes their own).

I have no idea how they would've gotten copies so early though.

One to watch for sure. As much trouble/negative press as she has had, you would think she might avoid more.

I love her music and am genuinely interested to read the book. Will be disappointed if its machined.

Man, what a crock. I really hope this isn't autopenned.

Seller says book was bought at/from Hive (a UK bookstore). I checked the website and they are only offering pre-orders of unsigned books. Still not making sense to me.
