Hey there, everyone -
I recently purchased a signed White House envelope that appears to be signed by both President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.
I've reviewed research videos of JFK's signature (by John Reznikoff from University Archives), yet cannot decide if these signatures are in fact legit.
Some things stand out to me:
1.) There is no postmark or stamp present, although it seems that a stamp was ripped off of the envelope at one point. Perhaps a previous postmark had faded?
2.) The seller who I purchased this from, claims that this was signed at the White House in February of 1962, however, the address on the envelope contains a zip code. Mind you, zip codes were not introduced until July 1, 1963 by the United States Postal Service. Considering that the President's untimely death just 4 months later, these signatures would have to be acquired within that short period of time.
I'm considering having these signatures authenticated using either PSA-DNA, JSA, or Beckett. Who would you use?
What do you think? Are these signatures legit or not? Are they worth taking the time and money to being authenticated?

I'm not familiar with the two autographs, but I have my concerns nonetheless. They look slowly penned - as if they've been copied from originals. Could you post a high quality close up/scan of each signature. That would help confirm/debunk my concerns.
I'd contact fellow member Herman Darvick - he knows a LOT about thses signatures. The inconsistencies you mention are worrisome. They look a bit slow, scratchy and remind me of new ink on old paper. However, this is not my sandbox. Herman will know.
