That's great of them, and sets the bar for their own future expectations of authors.

They don't seem to understand autopen vs rubber stamp, but they know it's not real in any case.

So I just received an unsigned book (ordered a "Signed" book back in December 2020), but Barnes and Noble won't charge me, correct?

I'm looking through my Paypal and credit card statements and found nothing.

The book is free?

I got the same thing... It's showing $0.00 on the email receipt.

All the auto pens are now going to appear online with her passing…

Bummer. I was hoping to catch her live one of these days. Regardless of her demons, she was a very talented singer/songwriter. Sad.

My understanding is that all the "stamped" books were destroyed.

I woulnd't mind a hand stamped copy from her to be honest.

She was a rebel with a good cause.

No, I still have one. You didn't have to return them. Barnes just refunded everyone.

Waterstones cancelled my order - and the press at the time confirmed most retailers withdrew the books:

You are a lucky one.

Would you mind sharing the image of the stamped page?

I haven't even seen it... Much obliged. A big fan and heartbroken today.

The book was a tough read but funny at times.

  • Very sad about sinead !  Privileged to have seen her live and met her . Here is something interesting which I never thought much about but it only came to light after the stamped book saga . The autograph to the left is the one I got in person , the one on the right is from the newbury comics preorder that I bought a few months prior to that. Is it possible that the newbury comics ones were ghost signed ??? I've checked quite a few examples of her signature online and can't find anything signed like the newbury ones ! . What do you all think as I'm very suspicious lol .

Very possibly. She clearly didnt think there was anything wrong with stamping her sig, so you cant rule it out, unfortunately. At least you have an IP!
