I have been collecting Star Wars autographs since 1998.  Not all of my signatures are on Star Wars memorabilia.  For example, when I met Warwick Davis at a comic convention in New York City, I had him sign a Willow photograph.  I also have publicity photos of Sir Alec Guinness and Christopher Lee from the 1970s, and a Natalie Portman signed The Diary of Anne Frank theater poster from her performance on Broadway back in 1998.  My current wish list includes Peter Cushing, Terence Stamp and John Williams.  I am interested in knowing about the collections and wish lists of other members.

Because she will be the hottest Star Wars item in the galaxy for the next four years.

I agree Pete.  Very well stated.

Hi Mike

Great reply. Really enjoyed reading this. The problem is in the UK when to know if they are making appearances because forgive my ignorance but I am kind of well out of the loop when it comes to Star Wars as opposed to other fans.

I see no reason why guests cannot turn up at these events and do photo shoots and autographs - if they could get Michael J. Fox to turn up at last year's convention at L.F.C.C., then really there's no reason why they couldn't get big name stars from Episode 7 in my opinion.

In regards to Disney, I could have sworn I had some stories about some of their autographs being questionable in the past. That's not to say they ultimately turned out to be this way, that was just based on the opinion of other person or persons. That put me off buying from them as I am very wary about who I buy online from now. OPX is one of the few IP companies I would trust.

The thing is, it depends if the actors in question go on to be as big a household name as Harrison Ford, whose autograph I am very lucky to have from a signing from 2011. Nevertheless, I would love a Boyega/Driver/Ridley in my collection - the question is where to buy from to ensure you are getting a legit sig. I would have gone through K-9 but the customs prices is the big drawback.

Well you have two LFCC cons and Star Wars Celebration in London coming up, ill let you know if any episode 7 guests are announced.
The only concerns that I have heard about purchasing autographs from Disney involved a shop called Starabilias that was once located in Downtown Disney in Walt Disney World. I agree with Mike T. I would not be concerned about purchasing autographs from Disney.

Hi Mike

It was a while ago now and can't remember the details but I do remember some raising concerns when buying, I think, from one of the park shops, but that doesn't mean the autographs were fake as I never saw them, it was just their opinion. As it was (as I seem to remember), it was just the one park so maybe it was a case of some fakes slipping through, if they were, who knows, or just unusual autographs from those particular stars, which does happen. I don't like to attack the credibility of someone unless there is evidence to do so.

Take care bud,

Robster

You too Robin. We are actually celebrating Thanksgiving in the US today. I am going to repost my original reply because the link is connected to the wrong page. Sorry for any confusion.
Yes, Starabilias was a mess but they were not a Disney company and Disney booted them once they figured out what was going on.

There's a shop that sells autographs in Hollywood studios and also the gift shop when you get off Star Tours sells Star Wars autographs sourced from Michael Whermann and OPX.
I have purchased from both of those shops in the past. Please read through that old discussion when you have some time Mike T. I am interested to know if you have any opinions based on your knowledge of Disney. Happy Thanksgiving.
Yes you guys had it right, although Sids isn't there anymore, there's a shop when you get off the Hollywood tours and the Star Wars section like you mentioned. Both are good, but pricey as you would expect.

Whermann is legit, he sells autographs to dealers wholesale, and he also sources info for IP collectors to buy. A lot of them will not tell you that, but that's where they get all the flight numbers, hotel info and schedules to chase celebs.
Happy thanksgiving Mike!

I was there in August and only the Star Tours one was open. That other building was closed because the Studio Backlot Tour has been shut down. Hopefully the store reopens when they decide what they're doing with that space.

I got a beautiful full signature Eva Green with a Whermann COA aa few years back and I love it.
