I have been collecting Star Wars autographs since 1998. Not all of my signatures are on Star Wars memorabilia. For example, when I met Warwick Davis at a comic convention in New York City, I had him sign a Willow photograph. I also have publicity photos of Sir Alec Guinness and Christopher Lee from the 1970s, and a Natalie Portman signed The Diary of Anne Frank theater poster from her performance on Broadway back in 1998. My current wish list includes Peter Cushing, Terence Stamp and John Williams. I am interested in knowing about the collections and wish lists of other members.

This hobby was never cheap, especially if you want authentic high quality material.
I know some of you here disagree with me on this point, but Daisy will not get cheaper. Even if she does sign an exclusive deal somewhere, or if she shows up at all the conventions.....you will see a price point you will not have seen before.
Don't get me wrong here....I liked the film, it was 100 times better than anything Lucas would have given us, but there were plenty of flaws and a ton of reworked old material.
I was really disappointed with Abrams & Kasdan going back to "used up" and "worn out" plot points, devices and scenarios, but the shining light among all of this was Daisy. Taking nothing away from John or Oscar, they were fantastic as well. None of them will be flooding the market.
The film was great, and all of the actors/actresses deserve praise- especially Daisy. However, based on the past, the usual trend was that the autographs get more expensive over time, ie. they become collector's items and the actors/actresses become more established.
Nowadays, even in sports, we see that the age of purchasing autographs of young talent for modest prices is over. Rookies are in the hundreds of dollars without stepping foot on a MLB diamond. We see a reverse trend; the prices of these prospective celebrities are in the hundreds of dollars the moment they become relevant rather than over the course of their career.
I honestly don't see any investment potential unless an item is cast signed. If it is just an individual photo (I'll use Daisy as an example, currently around $400-600), I don't see a single signed Daisy photograph being $1000 in the future.
I like to say it was A New Hope for a new generation that didn't get to see the first one in theaters. It was a good movie, even with its flaws, and it succeeded in ushering a new generation of Star Wars fans to keep the franchise going.
Personally I liked johns and oscars performances above Daisy, but they all did a really good job.
You're right, I don't think Daisy will be a $600 signature in a few months time. That is the hyped price, and not realistic or good for her publicity to charge that at a public signing or convention. I think Disney would have something to say about that. Everything she does from now on reflects on the big mouse.
I think a big part of this film's goal was "righting the ship" after the massive disappointments that the prequels were. It worked. It gave us a relatively simple story we all could follow. Characters, new ones and old familiar ones, that we actually cared about and want to see again. The cast and acting were good. The film is filled with images I'll remember. It looked and felt like authentic Star Wars.
I think I must be in a small band who enjoyed Return Of The Jedi and enjoyed the prequels as well.
For all the abuse that is about to come my way, lol, I was never a great fan of A New Hope or The Empire Strikes Back - don't get me wrong, they were enjoyable, but I really did enjoy Return Of The Jedi.
The prequels weren't as bad as what people make them out to be and people forget Jar Jar was aimed at kids, not adults. Some of the prequel content admittedly was extremely cringe worthy, but it was still a good set of films.
Wow, just wow.
As I say I must be in a small band Pete, lol.
I agree, Robin, I really enjoyed Return of the Jedi. I haven't seen a Star Wars movie since The Empire Strikes Back, so I can't comment on the others.
Empire and A New Hope were OK - but Return Of The Jedi sealed the deal for me.
Phantom Menace I enjoyed thoroughly - Jar Jar didn't get to me like the many fans but he was meant for kids anyway, so never understood the big issue.
Clones was slightly lacklustre but I did enjoy Christopher Lee's performance and it picked up agreeably with some slightly towards the end and Yoda fighting was great to see, even if the light saber duel in that fight was a bit disappointing.
Sith was a mixed bag - it was enjoyable and the final duel with Anakin and Obi Wan was enjoyable if not entirely memorable - I like others would've preferred an epic duel between Palpatine and Yoda.
In regards to Awakens, again a mixed bag. It was enjoyable but certainly not my favourite. At times I felt I was watching Lord Of The Rings but nevertheless, it was interesting and I enjoyed it more on my second viewing.
No need to explain yourself Robin. Every Star Wars fan has their own personal preferences. Jar Jar Binks did not upset me as much as he upset most fans. Neither did the Ewoks. I happen to be a fan of the entire Star Wars universe, Legends included. I like TFA better than ROTJ, but not better than ESB and ANH. As a matter of fact, I like ROTS better than ROTJ, but not better than TFN. My least favorite Star Wars film is TPM. I will leave it to you to arrange my favorite Star Wars films in order now. I am sure that many fans will disagree. That is what makes it enjoyable.
May the Force be with you!
I'll give it a go:
ESB, ANH, TFA, ROTS, ROTJ, AOTC, TPM.
Erm, I'm missing Attack Of The Clones haha. I'll take a punt you enjoyed ESB more than ANH :) I'll make an educated guess with clones.
Mine is like this: ROTJ, TPM, AOTC, ROTS, ANH, ESB, TFA
So hard to make that list. There really is very little in it with the last three. I enjoyed all the films, just some a little more than others.
You nailed it Robin.
