Hi, I feel like I already know the answer to this question, but just for some assurance can I get opinions on this Stevie Ray Vaughan Autograph? Unfortunately this is the only picture I have right now.

the glare is terribe

to me know but can u post a pic without glare

Do you have any provenance on the piece? This would be a major indicator whether or not I would pick it up. Without knowing anything about the history or source of the picture, my initial gut reaction is that I would personally have some concerns about it. The reason for this is that the picture is clearly from from "Soul to Soul" LP era. Stevie had a number of different autograph styles from different periods in his career. He would often use an abbreviated "SRV" style of autograph from most pieces that I have seen signed during the Soul to Soul era. The style of signature that is presented in the picture is from earlier in his career, especially from the Texas Flood era. An example from my personal collection is shown below.

There is a possibility that Stevie used this style of graph very early on in the Soul to Soul era, but its not indicative of the era signature based on most of what I have seen. I would suggest having a very strong sense of of the provenance (history) of the piece or a real strong sense of trust in the source before picking it up. it may be legit, but the signature style and era of the photo don't line up chronologically from my experience.

Attached is a close up shot of the "SRV" style of autograph from the Soul to Soul era that I referenced in my prior post. This one contains the oft boot legged "Soul to Soul" with the SRV initialization and the c/s notion.  This close up from the Soul to Soul cover is from my personal collection. Both of the shown LPs are authenticated via a very respected SRV resource.

I was able to find this one below that somewhat matches the style of the one in the original post but the size of the signature I'm the original one doesn't really sit well with me. Haven't seen many items, especially photos, where he signs that big. And it seems like the "R" in Ray looks off as well.

Neither the photo nor the latter LP look right to me personally. I would run it past Roger Epperson for a quick opinion if you want a second opinion. Neither graph example looks right to me though as they indicate an earlier graph style on a later item. I might be inclined to accept a later graph style on an earlier item but not vice versa as is the case here.
I understand. Tried to have a little hope but wasn't overly confident lol. Looks like I'll be passing. Thanks for the info!

I have a similar album i would love yo get an opinion on.
