Steve asked me to start a new thread since some were having a lot of issues with regards to whether or not the through the mail autographs of Jerry Lee Lewis are real or not.  I will post some examples of what we have been getting recently and some know in person examples.   These TTM signatures are not cheap.  You have to pay $50 for them to his box office box.  The question is are they real or not.  Roger has said that he has never seen Mr. Lewis sign this way and it looks to perfect - like a woman's signature.

Please post your thoughts here and examples.

thanks

Mark

Can you provide a link Chad?

The autograph is printed on the CD insert as part of the artwork.  I would not use it as an exemplar.

Of course it is printed on the cd. That is my point. I think they would probably use an authentic example of his autograph as the original the prints were made from. It is just one piece of the puzzle I used to determine the autographs with a "squiggle" and good and signed by the hand of JLL.

Hey Chad - that is not a good assumption.  Elvis almost never signed his bonus photos or his signatures that were going to be preprinted.

I am still reading all of this with and open mind and fascination.

I appreciate the comment Mark.

In this case, I believe the preponderance of recent evidence is showing that just because a given signature has a squiggle does not automatically mean it is no good.

I agree.

So now the question is, is everything in this thread with a squiggle considered authentic?  Were there any non-authentic sigs at all posted at this point?  (Stamped sigs not included)

The squiggle was not the only thing that members were questioning about the authenticity of some of the autographs.  Chad makes a good point though.  If a squiggle was not something that Jerry Lee Lewis had ever added to his signature, it is unlikely that they would have included it in the facsimile autograph on the CD insert.

Were there any non-authentic sigs at all posted at this point?"

I don't believe so. Like you said, that of course doesn't include stamped or preprinted sigs.

Here is another example of an authentic Jerry Lee item. It has been on ebay for a while now. Price is $599.00 and the description states--

Here is a 2007 New Orleans  Jazz fest Poster Artist Proof Signed by the Killer himself- Jerry Lee Lewis and the artist (myself) who painted  his portrait -Francis X. Pavy. In addition to being double signed, this edition  has(my)  Pavy’s remarque of the piano player playing a burning piano.  This edition  is the smallest Remarque edition of only 100  posters produced and is only available through the artist and his agent.

It's a small pic, but the signature appears quite similar to the TTM signature from Mark's "Best Of" LP, which includes the squiggly line. There are so many clues that point to the authenticity of the TTM signatures, but one has to be open to it.
