I'd appreciate thoughts on how the signature on this Sydney Greenstreet photo from 1947's THE HUCKSTERS looks.

Thanks!

Etienne, This seems very loose and spread out….then the break in Green street etc. So even if this is real (I have never seen one like it),on the close up what happened to the ink. Eric might have an idea about that.

I was interested in Greenstreet’s autograph at one time as I wanted to do a whole Maltese Falcon display. This particular piece looks atypical to what I had seen at the time in my research. I am not an expert on him though.

Thanks, David and Nick!

I agree it looks atypical.  I've studied it a bit more since posting and I don't think it's authentic.  It's currently on the market from a dealership.  They have some others as well that look VERY different than this.

I think Sydney is tricky in authentic form.  I've seen a lot of 5 x 7's.... and even 8 x 10's......that are clearly secretarial.  I've been looking for him on an off for a few years.

Etienne, Don't bank on these but I think they are in the ballpark.

Those are great, David!  Are they yours?

Etienne, They are exemplars I have gathered in my library. I do own one on a duel signed A.P. I bought and put away 20-25 years ago.
