Decided to start a new thread... Local memorabilia shop confirmed live ink and we removed it from the frame. It was processed in the mail in 1937 based on the reverse side. Took a few more photos before we packaged it up for JSA

the shop owner who’s been doing this for 40 years. “I strongly believe you got lucky as hell.”

Are you serious, or being sarcastic.

the base of the R is lower than the rest of the structure, the base of the T in Ruth is higher than the U.

I just got a new email, that they are unable to render an opinion and refunded the fee..

So we have gone from likely to pass, to unlikely to pass, to unable to render an opinion...

Literally can't make this stuff up....

Which TPA are you referring to?

Beckett

are these fake too?

It’s one piece of the puzzle. It’s not common.

i deemed it fake because of the babe and the straight baseline in Ruth. Not because just one thing was present.

pick up Ron’s book or Google operation Bambino

Woody, please posts your Ruths so we have more known genuine ones to compare to.

This internet blog on authentic and forged Ruths is pretty much a medley of my files, already organized in perfect order.

I already had roughly half to two-thirds of these exemplars saved to file, both the fakes and the authentic, in 2014 when the article was first written. A lot of great text here with corresponding examples.

I meant could you please post the Babe Ruths that you own?

Easier to post the page, which is perfectly organized. I had most of these saved as exemplars from before the blog was published. This page beautifully organizes them into sensible order, my images are diffuse and more randomly saved with accompanying notes I'd have to attach, very time consuming.

The work is already done on this and the previous page I posted. I have a lot more saved but would likely be redundant, and that, after losing about half of mine to a an external HD crash a few years back.

And excellent page comparing Ruth forgeries

And of course, although there's lots of great work done in those informative Hauls of Shame blogs, there's also dark linings within the silver clouds!

Here's the skinny on the blogger rom Net54 for the other side of the coin:

Like any other business with a high potential of fraud, you have to arm yourself to distinguish between fact and fiction, hobby politics typically providing the impetus behind which one! lol
