Here are the COA's that were issued with these books. These were won (or bought) in Facebook messenger Auctions. I got them for about $150 each. These auctions are basically 8 sellers each have 8-10 lots to sell. Each seller goes in turn and gets 2 minutes to auction an item. Ususlly they only post 1 picture and will give an estimate of its condition. There is alot of trust involved so if someone is shady, the admins will give them the boot. This particular seller is fairly new (6 months probably) but buyers are starting to complain about him taking months to ship, which I can attest to. So, I have alerted the admins of some of these groups, of my suspicions and they, like me, are interested to hear what you all think.
Now this is the dedication and research I am interested I seeing. Thank you. Listen to Crazytrbbits23, with whom I agreed first I think. From what you describe, I would move on, fast. But continue your fight against this from what you say - they don't look right.. I do it here with Jackie Gleason ( I changed their PSA Facts page totally for his name, not yet "The Honeymooners"), Bowie ("andy peters/Tony Ford" forgeries) and several others. I have done work cleaning out secretarial sigs or forgeries for many of these for auction houses. My work is ongoing. To save folks money. In some cases, a LOT of money.
Pass it on.
Eric
PS - I just made the above more clear.
Fully understood. Thank you both
As you see, anytime. Most welcome.
Please confirm you read my PS.
Yes, I read it, and thank you for clarifying. I love the work you are doing for us all and you can be sure that I will continue this battle. There is 1 more group that I need to include in this and then to see what the seller has to say.
I see. Excellent. Thank you.
Yes sir!
Thank you. While I certainly appreciate the sentiment, call me Eric, please :-) I am sending a friend request as soon as I remember how ;) I have many hundreds.
Actually, you send me the friend request. There is too much going on here. Birthday and all while monitoring my friend's fractured ankle until he goes to the hospital tomorrow..I have to apply ice again. Thank you again.
On Facebook? There's several Eric Longos
Speaking as someone who has a few signed ungraded comics (Claremont, Kubert et al), placement and contrast is everything. I have a couple Claremont signed issues I got IP years ago - UXM 137 and 201 - that were signed over the title and are very difficult to make out, and those have blue ink against white/black backgrounds.
Just the contrast and placement alone would be enough to reject these out of hand. I'd suggest looking into a CGC graded Lee signature, even with the premium pricing, or a polybagged/sealed Dynamic Forces release that has his sig, but that's just me.
