These are two David Gilmour & Polly Samson signed copies of 'Yes I Have Ghosts' that I spotted. The first one is $145 and the second one is $220, both come with Polly's new book. I know that Gilmour released limited signed copies of this CD along with the book, but still want to double check before purchasing. Are these authentic & are they worth collecting? Also which one do you think is better? Thx!

Authentic yes.. worth collecting is always a personal question. Are you collecting for your enjoyment or for investment? I collect for enjoyment but also started a collection for my daughter which forces me to think about the investment side, even if I don't believe I am.. I honestly feel guys like Gilmour and the many rock legends of the past, will continue to gain in value. Everyone believes the Beatles are still good investments, even though you have to spend similar money for a down payment on a small house to get one. If Gilmour decides to start signing hundreds of autographs a day now, that could change any projected value increase for the future. I do not believe that will happen, but you never know.

Gilmours signature tended to bubble up on a lot of these but the 2 examples above are pretty good with the top cd having the best flow. If I was in the market and these were the only 2 options to choose from, id probably choose the top one especially if its the cheaper of the 2 even though the ink is a bit light. If you want the cheapest purchase, id hold off a month or 2 and see if any auctions pop up with a low starting price. The auctions seem to end around $100 to $120

Thanks for the nice reply! I collect mainly for enjoyment because I don't think I'll ever sell any of those things that I love, valuable or not. I just love having things around, vinyl records, books, CDs and other stuff. Anyway I just bought the top one. I feel happy not only for finally having my Gilmour signature, but also for having you guys around this forum! Peace & Love!

Thats great! To reiterate on what crazyrabbits23 said, you cant go wrong with this purchase. The Stars aligned and Gilmour signed these to help promote his wife's novel. Most likely we will never see a mass signing like this from him again. He's normally a hard signature to obtain.

This was taken direct from his website

May I have a signed photo?

  • David has signed occasional things for fans, plus the odd guitar for charity auctions, but he is uncomfortable with the concept of autograph collectors, as you can understand when you see the prices charged for stars' autographs, including David's, on eBay. He would really rather not be asked for an autograph, in an ideal world.

It was a no-brainer for me, and I'd recommend you do the same. I don't see him running out of his way to replicate those same circumstances any time in the near future.

Just purchased the top one. I heard that Gilmour autographs are really hard to get these days so I'm glad that I finally got one nice item of my own. Thank you so much for replying!
