Hi,

That appears OK but something...I'd have to pass although I can't pin down just why. Possibly just the angled photo and not a flat scan w/o distortion, or the angle of the signature...or the silver which I am not fond of. If I had to choose I would have gone with gold for this. Anyway, it looks fresh and slow/drawn to a degree...perhaps contrived. Structurally, from what little I can see, it seems reasonable, but something seems off somewhere.

Hi Danny,

I really can't say more, I'd pass to err on caution (the paint pen, I don't like them in terms of what I am used to seeing) - there are "enough" around to be selective. You could always get a Quick Opinion from Mr. Epperson to guide you. I find $15 to be far more palatable then $800-$1200 or whatever that LP is; it is money very well spent IMO. The seller says it was signed at a Levi's Promotional Event in London in 83.  Just had it sent to Epperson, and heard back.  He thinks it's a good signature!  I'm only slightly familiar with him.  Any idea how often he's right about this type of thing?  Thanks!

Hi Danny,

Glad you got an answer. Obviously, I am guided by Mr. Epperson's opinion. Probably the photo and paint pen that cause me to be hesitant. If I am to make a mistake, and we all have and do, I'd rather err on the side of caution instead of making an error in the wrong direction!

I personally don't like this signature. My biggest concern is that the b and o are not connected.
On all the Bowie autographs that I have got in person from Bowie, the letters have always been connected.
Just my thoughts.

Hi Bjarne,

I have seen the "open B" into the mid 90's on authentic material from music to art catalogs. In this time period C. 1980, the two letters are very often not connected from what I have seen.
