A friend of my emailed me some photos of some his Springsteen collection. I am just not liking these... How do you tell them that you think they are no good... Or do you even bother.??

Thoughts on these...

I'm fairly weak on Springsteen, but I can't imagine either of those are authentic.  The second one just screams of forgery, even to someone generally unfamiliar with the band's signatures.

Hi Mark,

Unfortunately i agree with you all the way. These items dont look authentic to me at all. The formation of the first one is all wrong starting with the B and continuing throughout the whole signature. The wacky stacking of the signature would also be very strange if it was authentic, as Bruce rarely does it that way. But everything seems off to me in it.

The second one seems just as bad. The Nils lofgren signature is way off, as is the Springsteen. The Nils is actually horrible. The Bruce formation is also way off. And Bruce rarely signs his name in a straight line. Not to mention, that its pretty easy to see that many of those, if not all of them, were signed by the same person. For instance, check out the double T formation in the Patty and Ray signatures. They are exactly the same, literally carbon copies. Not to mention the signatures are the same size and written with the same pen pressure.

In my opinion they are definetly bad, with no real chance they could be real. Good eye Mark. Now as far as telling him, i definetly would. He needs to know that the graphs are bad so that he might be able to get a refund. If nothing else he needs to hear the truth so that he wont sell them some time down the road to someone unsuspecting. I imagine others will comment with the same concerns, and if he sees all these comments, he may believe the truth easier. Or you might direct him to Roger who can give him extra confidence. But he at least needs to be made aware of it. If he chooses to ignore it or deny it, then so be it, as long as he doesnt try and resale them. But you at least can say you did your best to try and warn him. Thats just my opinion on it.

Good luck though

Carl

I really just met the guy and he seems to be really cool. Big Springsteen fan from jersey! I purchased a Springsteen album from him that he got signed in 1981 himself. Roger gave the good on the one I purchased. :)

When he emailed me the photos - I cringed!!! He told me he purchased these...:(

Mark

these are all very bad.  Where did he puchase them so that others can beware?

I agree...these are really bad.
