I’m in the process of acquiring this Tom Brady signed football.  Tom signed this after winning his and the Patriots very first Super Bowl in the 2001-2002 season, Tom’s rookie year, Super Bowl 36, Patriots 20 Rams 17.

This is Tom’s “rookie” autograph.  It’s how he signed during his rookie season in 2001.

The other signer on the ball is Jermaine Wiggins, a less-well-known Super Bowl 36 player for the Patriots.

It looks good to me.  So Tom Brady fans and football fans in general, what do you think?  Is it real?

Personally, I like this autograph style better than the way he signs now.

I’m a Kansas City Chiefs fan first, but assuming the Chiefs won’t make it out of the AFC (pretty reliable assumption), I say, “Go Pats!”  Here’s to hoping Tom Brady gets his 7th Super Bowl Title and continues making sports history!

Some people say, “I’m sick of the Patriots winning all the time!”  Not me.  I embrace it.  Many of us don’t realize what a treat it is that we get to witness such phenomenal historical achievement.  There will never be a football player that ever comes close to dominating the NFL the way Brady has.  It’s safe to say there will never be another Tom Brady.

Some people say, “Oh...but Brady cheats!  Just look at that whole “Deflate Gate” thing.  Well guess what, folks.  The NFL was bound and determined that they were not going to allow Brady to have the football inflated to the level he most desired.  So they forced Brady to throw fully-inflated footballs.  And what was the result?  BRADY CONTINUED TO MAKE PINPOINT THROWS TO HIS RECEIVERS AND THE PATRIOTS WON ANOTHER SUPER BOWL.  So much for Deflate Gate...that whole thing was much ado about NOTHING!!

So people, just sit back, and enjoy the moment, and let’s all hope that the Patriots win the Super Bowl for the 2019-2020 season!!

Cannot comment on your autographs but it would be an amazing piece to own.

I'm with you, a long suffering Vikings fan but love the winning streak and amazing Brady record. I remember when Usain Bolt was winning everything yet now people miss him and say the Olympics lacks the appeal it had when he was around.

You never know what you've got until it's gone so I hope Brady can keep going and win again in 2020 as we're unlikely to see another like him for a while if ever!

I completely agree.  Great analogy with Usain Bolt.  I think a lot of people love a winner and hate a winner at the same time.  People will say they hate this player or they hate this team or that team.  Why?  Because they win so much.  Yet it’s dynasties and iconic players that make a sport thrive and give people something or someone to rally around.  Sometimes it can get boring if the same team wins all the time, yet at the same time it brings attention to the sport and provides a definition of greatness, a standard which we look up to.

Just look at what Michael Jordan did in the NBA, winning 6 titles in 8 years.  He was only stopped during that period because he didn’t play for almost two years.  Secretly I think many people like dynasties, but they just like to see some of the unexpected underdogs occasionally rise to the top too.

Over many, many years, people loved to hate the Yankees, but where would baseball be without Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, and Mickey Mantle? If we simply had a different team win every year for 30 straight years, so the title was just passed around, would t that get kind of boring too?

James, the signature looks good to me.. But the inscription of his number looks atypical. Which I think is one area where forgers sometimes screw up. I have seen a few very good Brady forgeries with atypical inscriptions. While everyone's signature changes overtime, our handwriting rarely does when we write our letters and numbers..

This 2, has a more pronounced "2", which the natural curve most people write it with. Brady's typically looks like a capital Z, with the top part of the two being flat like the bottom and each structure nearly the same length....

Just my observations. I posted three examples.

I would send it off for PSA or Beckett Quick Opinion and see their thoughts, just my observations.

Bdotson, thanks for your thoughts and the pics you posted.  Inscriptions can help a great deal in determining authenticity.  I think what I may do is actually send this off to PSA, JSA, or BAS for a full review.  If it came back negative, I’ve got 6 months through PayPal to get a refund.  I think on this one I’d feel better about a full review.

I’m wondering what you all think of this early Brady signed white-panel Super Bowl 36 football. When I first saw it, I doubted it’s authenticity.  However, it’s apparently a Tristar item.  So this would have been a witnessed signing, apparently signed in July 2002 in LA.  To me, the B looked a little strange, particularly there being a loop at the bottom of the B.  Another oddity is that Brady’s “12” inscription is on the outside of the ending loop rather than where it normally is seen...on the inside.  Here it is.

It’s legit. I’ve seen him do outside the loop a few times

How about this one?  This kid looks pretty happy...kind of like everything is possible!
