I noticed that the UACC has updated the information on its expelled dealers list:

http://uacc.org/advisory.php

Two things that stand out to me:

1) Garrett Chan. I know him personally. My friend used to have the job of creating his eBay listings. In my friend's defense, he knows absolutely nothing about autographs. That said, when he mentioned what he was doing for a job, I said "I'm pretty sure Garrett Chan is the shady guy who used to sell forgeries at the card show." I was asked to come over to the house to help them pack up (Garrett decided to close up shop a decade or so ago), and I was given a Hawaii card expo signed poster (which I've lost... I'm guessing it was no good anyway, but it was signed by Musial, and that seemed okay, so who knows) and a "Gillie Hayes" baseball bat. That one is funny, as it looks like someone was practicing engraving Willie Mays' signature onto the bat. I took it to the batting cage and used it as a bat. :D

2) Hollywood Memorabilia / Brian Slaven / Tina Reany. This one is interesting because Hollywood Memorabilia has had a lot of items that I thought were shady in the past, but I just passed on them. To see that he was actually kicked out of UACC is a whole different animal.

I think is a really good idea to put these up.  Taking this in a slightly different direction   I was wondering whether there was any interest for maybe starting a new group in which people could post up items they found from current AFTAL and UACC dealers that they felt were not authentic ; - this would maybe encourage collectors , who are not as experienced or knowledgable, as some of the big names here who contribute to this site, to realize that AFTAL and UAAC membership does not automically mean that every single item sold by a dealer with these accreditions will be authentic  ; - and its a big shock when you are tend to maybe naively believe that everything you buy from such a dealer will be authentic; - only an idea though & I appreciate there may very well be no interest for it at all.  regards

I for one very much like your idea michelle...

I wonder why it got absolutely no response ??

Any idea why ??
