Value of Paul McCartney signed cap

I'm interested in getting this hat. Any ideas on price? Starting bid is at $350. Seems good for a MACCA auto

its a good price if its authentic. I have my doubts. Hats are typically difficult to authenticate, but with this one, the last part of McCartney seems way off.

Based on the signature alone--I'm not that experienced in his other handwriting--If McCartney signed a cap, I think this is what it would look like. And I think the signature is in line with the period.

Get an online opinlon from Roger Epperson for $15 before you buy. He is super-sharp on McCartney.

I am on the fence, some of it looks good, some of it is off.

Personally I would not want this in my collection only as it is not something I would class as desirable as he is not the owner of the place and it's dedicated so i think even if real the value would be low

when did McCartney add a "g" to his last name? I have never seen him from his "r' that way.

Agreed, the letters aren't even formed correctly, cap or no cap. Also the lifting on the personalization and the pressure on the dedication is different, the whole thing is very weird. I would stay away but that's just me.

..here is a genuine one where the 'r' is similar; however, on balance I agree that does not look quite right - more to do with the sloping of the 'rt'

I still think it looks good. All his real signatures show the r to the t in his last name with a little dip down on the r then rising to the t...this one is a much bigger dip, but aside from that it all looks exactly like a genuine signature. The bill of a cap is rounded, and there is stitching to sign over, and even with all that I think it still looks good.
