What do you think of ProSportsMemorabelia.com or Mounted Memories?

I am a serious collector of real NFL helmets with HOF signatures.  I am considering a purchase of a helmet from ProSportsMemorabelia.com.  I asked them a series of questions over the phone, and they told me that they are partners with Mounted Memories and the helmet would come from the MM warehouse.  First question, what is your opinion on the reputation of both companies (if you know)?

Second question...  They could not supply me with the photo of the actual helmet/signature I would receive unfortunately as it would be shipped from a warehouse, so I guess I would be leaving it up to chance as far as the quality of the signature I would get.  They do offer a 60 day return policy.  I am very picky about the quality of the signature on my helmets.  What are your feelings about not being able to see the actual item and autograph?

Thanks for any thoughts you could give.

Both are excellent, in terms of quality and authenticity.  I haven't purchased anything from prosportsmemorabilia.com for years, but I took a quick glance and they seem to still be the same high quality company.  Most sports collectors wouldn't balk at buying a modern item with a Mounted Memories sticker.  Their reputation is solid, and I believe many sports collectors consider them among the safest bets.  They just did a show near me about a week ago.  Stars like Willie Mays, Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Ernie Banks, Reggie Jackson, Greg Maddux, and many more were there.

The only reason I personally don't buy much from Mounted Memories they tend to inflate the prices.  They're sort of a sports autograph "name brand," like Steiner, Upper Deck or Tristar.  For example, Aaron Rodgers did a signing at his house in California about 3 weeks after the the Super Bowl earlier this year.  Several autograph dealers flew out there.  Mounted Memories and Steiner were taking preorders for this signing, but so were smaller, somewhat less known but just as reputable dealers like denverautographs.com and Waukesha Sports Cards (who specializes in Packers and Brewers signings).  Preorders from Denver or Waukesha (whose owners were also physically present at the signing) were much, much less expensive than MM or Steiner - for the exact same items.  But Mounted Memories and Steiner are more nationally recognized names and much bigger companies, hence the higher prices.

Thanks Richard.  I have had alot of my helmets signed with DenverAutographs.com at shows they attend and those guys do a great job, and at good prices.  Since I am in Wisconsin, I have heard of Waukesha Sports Cards and the feedback is always good there too.  I appreciate your feedback!

Agree with Richard's comment. It is my understanding Mounted Memories items are all signed under supervision, much like TriStar

Thanks Mr Zipper!

While I don't pay much attention to Sports Autographs, any time I've seen items offered from either name they've looked authentic.  I always liked ProSportsMemorabilia.

never ever never buy something sight unseen, regardless of who it's from.  Mounted memories has always had a good reputation but one needs to verify the cert number with mountend memories; http://www.mountedmemoriesauthentic.com/Authenticate.aspx

ProSportsMemorabelia.com when I googled it came up as a doman up for sale so I am not sure who we are validating nor opining on.  by the way when you just google it guess which site also comes up under that same exact .com?  This one http://www.sportsmemorabilia.com and I wouldn't trust them with your money... they still have a flock of bogus charlton hestons up for sale.

when asking for validations it is easier just to post the link rather than type it in....such as the one I think we are speaking about; http://www.prosportsmemorabilia.com/

not a problem.  I wonder if the REAL http://www.prosportsmemorabilia.com/ realizes that it is quite illegal to use an "encroachment" name that mimics theirs ProSportsMemorabelia.com that in turn leads to http://www.sportsmemorabilia.com

I wonder how much in sales they have lost as a result.

That is quite shady.

anything I have ever seen with a MM sticker has been good. I never heard the other company.
