The 5x7 on the left has a noticeably impressed indent mark from the original manila mailer. Green fountain. The 11x14 on the right might be a Hurrell?(unknown) but has poorly adhered very light ink and a large scratch above her left eye down to the paper apparently as well as a large crease on the left. Overall, which do you prefer? Larger scans posted below.

Did you end up getting the 11" x 14" from David L.?   It's lovely!   I remember prior discussions on it:

p.s.  Looking back at that post, David stated there was no noted damage on the 11' x 14" but rather it was a digital representation glitch.  Do you find there actually is the damage you mention if you now have it?

No, but that is obviously not a cobweb as suggested. It clearly reads exactly like an emulsion scratch. Whatever its nature, I would avoid it. Were it a known Hurrell I don't think the signature such as it is with poor adhesion would really help.

Certainly not. Very light spotty ink, damage (eye scratch), and crease.  Too much for me. The image might be superior, but the signature is gone, especially from a distance, and that facial scratch and rather hard crease are problematic at best. Mine was taken by Frank Tanner, is on double weight matte paper and retains the original mailer. Smaller, but better condition, contrast and perhaps image as well. The mailer and green ink are a plus to those that appreciate those things.

I'm confused.  Again, do you have the 11" x 14 "?

I have the better of the two IMO - the Sudden Fear SP, 1952.

I don't know if it is a scratch or not. I am going by the scans. I was having a bad day yesterday - I apologize.
