I'm now fairly confident that this is a high class copy.

Seller not promoting it as genuine, low starting price, happy to discuss a buy it now with me, and even partially saying it could be a copy!

Very scary that such a high class copy could be made (on the front and back) and without this site and other experts, one could easily be conned into buying it.

I suppose we can't say it's 100% a copy but all of the indications point to it I think. All I know is i'm not parting with any hard earned cash for it any time soon..

The problem with an item like this is someone can easily buy it and not even consider the possibility of it being a copy, have it framed/display behind glass and proudly display it never knowing its a copy, while the seller takes the money.

If they do figure out it is a copy however, eBay will refund them for sure as they did with my piece.

I've seen laser copies of rare Beatles concert tickets sold...matted and framed...and when you find out you've been had...the seller is long gone.

Even if it is a high quality copy, you should easily be able to tell if the text is printed or written in biro. This should be obvious when looking closely at it.

Maybe ask the seller if he can tell if its printed or written in biro.

Another thing i've noticed is the colours seem to be slighly different (though this could be photo etc etc).Notice the dirt mark below the M in McCartney, on the ebay one is dark grey as is the smudge to the right of the Y in McCartney. On the Legends auction its tan/brown.

Another thing to check is the tape. On the Legends one it seems to have the tape left behind, so actually stuck to the picture (and not a mark). Is the tape on the ebay one there or printed?

Agree on the tape....ask the seller to run his finger over the tape...is it textured? If not definitely a photocopy...but I think he's a scammer anyway based on latest reply.

I agree,he knows what hes doing.

The original was recently sold by Profiles In History and included a Frank Caiazzo LOA.

You mean after the Legendary auction in 2009?  It sold again?

Yes. It was sold at auction last December.

I love the way sellers think if they add information they hold no responsibility like this one:

On 24-Aug-14 at 17:53:20 BST, seller added the following information:

Just to make this clear to everyone. I

I have no proof of authenticity with it and no idea whether its a pre print or copy. I assumed it wasnt as it is on the back of the photo and usually they are printed on the front. but I dont know I'm certainly no expert.

So I thought the fairest way to do this was to auction it with the emphasis on the buyer taking the gamble as I dont want to hoodwink anyone and equally I dont want to mess around with refunds if it turns out not to be genuine.

so its very much bought as seen with no refunds accepted and im sorry i cant be much clearer but in my opinion its a fantastic item. Someone will certainly have some fun with it and hopefully have a lovely investment piece.

If I buy it and it's a copy you take it back, end of - seller assumes responsibility!
