Hi,

I am a brand newbie to collecting autographs. I am amazed at what a jungle it is to find an authentic dealer and autograph.

I have been looking for a Kate Beckinsale autograph.

I have not purchased anything yet as I can tell one must be super careful as a collector.

The two dealers that I have found that seem to be quite reliable are Autograph world and Autograph pros. Another name/dealer I have come across is Patrick Morgan.

Does anyone know if these are reliable, honest dealers with authentic autographs?

Hey Mike.

Thanks for replying. I really appreciate it :)

If you could find and post the pictures, that would be great.

Whats also tricky for us beginners is the wide variety now especially on ebay. Now I have read that some say that 80-95% of the ones on ebay are fake. But I have also found that some big name companies sell on ebay as well. I actually found a Beckinsale pic on ebay which was identical to one I saw on Autograph world. I contacted Autograph World about it and found that the ebay seller was actually Autograph world themselves , they had just used another seller name to post the pictures.

Cool.

Looks very nice.

Are you selling this?

Hi guys it's Michael Hoppe, owner of World of Autographs. Let me know if you have any specific questions regarding the Beckinsales we have for sale.

Hi Mr. Hoppe. Thanks for taking time to check out the posts here and commenting.  As my initial thread states, I am a new collector and educating myself on who the best and authentic dealers in the business are.

World of autographs seem like one of the big companies that sell authentic autographs.  In one of my others posts I ask what is most "reliable" in terms of COA's and found that PSA/DNA is preferred although a COA from Global Authentics is also strong in terms of actual authenticity. I have looked at some of the Beckinsales on world of autographs and I feel that your company offers a really good and honest service. However Global Authentics COA's are offered with the ones I have looked at so far on your site. I am sure it's fine. It just interesting that PSA/DNA is often preferred.

I am just trying to figure out whether to purchase from a dealer who offers PSA/DNA or GA COA's. It seems to be a formality and some prefer one over the other. I know that one can never bee totally sure if an autograph is completely authentic unless it is actually signed for you in person,so when purchasing autographs from dealers one can never bee 100% sure. In my opinion, COA'S are really a type of insurance for the potential collector. However, this type of insurance is crucial in my opinion. A COA may never completely guarantee an autographs authenticity but it can be a strong indicator and  offer a great sense of trust and confidence in purchases for potential autograph buyers.

Jack I definitely prefer PSA. Two more places to check out are Signed, Sealed, Delivered. And The Autograph Source. Trust both.

Jack,

I don't know anything about Word of Autographs, but I do know a good amount about the authenticators. In my opinion, most of the GA-certified autographs I've seen for sale are not genuine.

Hi steve,

Thanks for your reply,

Wow, I see, thanks for that info. I appreciate it.

Hey Steve, I am not a big fan of blanket statements made by anyone

However, I am assuming you meant the old Global Authentication/GAI and not the new Authentics/GA.

Correct?

Hi Michael,

I know what you mean about blanket statements, but unfortunately, I'm talking about GA, Global Authentics. From what I've seen for sale, they're as bad as GAI.

I don't agree but lets go ahead and agree to disagree.

However I have no opinion on any 3rd party sports authentication as I have very limited expertise with those types of autographs. In case that is what you are referring to.

Sure...let's agree to disagree. Nothing wrong with that.

But I'm not just talking about sports. I'm talking about music, entertainment, etc., too.
