What's your opinion of who's up and who's down in music autograph prices? John brennan has been auctioning a heap of the same old stuff off month after month which barely gets mb, suprising- surprised effecting prices or not?

when it comes down to prices I would say Roger Waters and Bruce Springsteen. I am also surprised not finding a buyer for a early 90's signed Bryan Adams LP with a nice signature on it for less then 100 USD.

I agree - my vintage Waters promo just sits and at a low price!

Just sits around bummer!

Sometimes I think Eric that showing your autographs to the public before you sell makes people uninterested when it comes to selling because everyone has seen it!

Well, I can understand that and I appreciate the advice, but most everything I sell comes from my personal collection (if I would not buy or recommend it I don't sell it as I have said many times) so it often gets shown like we all do when we get something new. :)

I don't see much surprising about the Brennan collection as far as pricing.

The MB items are just not desirable or barely worth the $200 MB

Going up...
Freddie Mercury
Bowie
David Gilmour
Syd Barrett
Kurt Cobain
Bob Dylan
Beatles
Elvis (maybe leveled off, I dunno for sure)

Going down...
Roger Waters (the market is just flooded)

This is an interesting thread and I'd like to hear what others see as a current pricing trend

Gc Freddie (queen) would be a good cat investment. Bob Dylan is question because I really don't believe Bob is a rare autograph like many do, I know a lot of collectors that own 2 or 3 of his graph, also he still sells through the store. Bob Marley is a solid graph. Prince went down may go back up who knows.

Can only hope Gilmour gets busy the the marker.

When did Prince prices go down?   Last I looked, a few months back, Prince signed photos were selling in $5k to $6k range, this being two years after his death.   Signed LPs selling at $5k.  And simple cuts at around $2500 or so.  Prices seem to have just soared since his death.  But, of course, there’s a very limited supply available.

Have you seen the amount of Prince memorabilia the auctions have been auctioning of this of Prince. His autographs having been bringing all that much john brennan had a signed photo it must have made 2k, over at juliens his graph was bring a thousand dollars for some items.

I’ll have to do some more investigating.  What I was referencing were results at RR Auctions.  I just don’t know how these auction houses could be coming up with so many Prince autographs.  It’s pretty common knowledge that he virtually signed no autographs for the last 25+ years of his life.  RR has had huge results in 2018 with Prince signed items.

Forgeries or perhaps people are cashing in?

Just people cashing in.
