Do I have to send in photos for celebrities to sign or do they give you their own photos? I see a lot of people send stuff in..is the success rate lower if you don't send something?

And if I do have to send in my own, where do I get the photos? I don't have printer..lol

Yes you should send your own photos and of course a self addressed envelope with postage. What I do is use a 10 x 13 envelope and send out my letter, photos and 9 X 12 return envelope inside that. Some times they send it back with a signed photo of theirs and other times they will send yours back signed. But I have sent out hundreds and I still will occasionally get an envelope back in the mail after 1-2 years.

Yes the success rate will be lower because you are trying to make this as convenient as possible for the person signing. Some may ask for a small donation like Jane Seymour she will ask for a $10.00 donation for her charity. Some will send your stuff back and tell you about the donation and you have to send it all back with a check and some will sign and then ask that you donate to their charity. Being the person that I am I always made those donations.

There are a few places out there that sell just the photos like Autograph World and some other. I am sure you will get plenty of websites on here.

Good Luck and have fun. Keep a record of every envelope you send so you don't repeat plus you can mark them off as they come back.

Where do you get just the photos for them to sign? Are you suppose to print them?
Im confused isn't their copyright issues with printing photos? Why would the celebs sign them?
Can I have them printed at a store?

Here are a few of my favorites for celebrity photos.  I can vouch for all of them - excellent, high quality photos and fast shipping - even Stateside Stills, which is in the UK.

It is difficult to get places like Walmart and Sam's Clubs to print these pictures because they will not take a chance. Some times you can slide it by Walmart but not so much the Sam's Club.

So unless you have a friend or family member that will let you borrow their printer it's going to be a problem. then you are stuck ordering everything online and waiting. Plus you can pay as much as $5-$6 per picture.

Thanks guys, I found a place who will print them so it's all good.

Also to add that a hand written letter in my experience yields more replies than a typed letter!

Oh I will! I wouldn't want to send out a typed letter..I want my fave celebs to know their worth the extra time of hand writing.

Hey, Amber! Looks like you got all the info you asked for from some great guys who have been on this website for years and really know their stuff. Just wanted to add my 2 cents in that I recently discovered. I bought just a plain regular thumb drive, and google searched images of some people I wanted to write to and get an autographed 8x10 of. I used the google search options "larger than 2 MP" and selected the image I wanted, and saved it to the thumb drive. I then took the thumb drive to Walgreens (you can do this at CVS, too) and plugged it into their picture making kiosk and printed out the photo. Costs me only $3.99 plus tax every time. Plus, if you look inside the Walgreens or CVS weekly sales paper, they will have deals where you can purchase photo enlargements at a buy-one-get-one-free rate, or 2 for $5, and so on. And, they NEVER give you a hard time like Walmart, Kinkos, Office Max, Office Depot, etc. You might pay a little more at Walgreens and CVS than those other stores, but hey, you get your pictures without a big deal being made. That whole "copyright" stuff is bullcrap. Enlarging pictures from the internet for your own personal use is not a copyright violation. Enlarging pictures from the internet and selling tons of them without the photographers permission is.

Thank you! I didn't even think of the kiosks! I never really used them so I guess that makes sense. Do they print right at the kiosk? Years ago they printed in the back and you had to wait for a worker to give them to you. I'll definitely do that next time. I ordered a few pics online on one site I got two 8x10's for free for new customers and the other site I got two 5x7's cuz I didn't want to spend too much money. When I'm in need or more pix I think I'll keep my eye out for coupons at walgreens and get some 8x10's at the kiosk. Thanks a lot! :)

You are so welcome, Amber. I can only speak about my Walgreens and CVS stores, so I don't how they are like in different cities. At Walgreens, I have to wait about an hour for a worker to give them to me. At CVS, they print out right at the kiosk.
