And don't forget about the great Doyle Alexander. We traded Doyle for some guy in the Tigers minor leagues named John Smoltz in late 1987. Doyle then went on a tear, going 9-0 in 11 starts to help you guys win the division that year. I think that Smoltz guy went on to have a pretty good career, too! :)

Very cool Jeffrey - Evans is a beast.  I just watched the Tigers/Braves series.      For one reason or another, although I am a Tigers fan, I have always liked the Braves.  I think it was because of Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Gant, Kleskso, & Lopez.  Those teams were awesome.

On a wind-swept, rainy Georgia morning today, I was able to have the good fortune of meeting 2 of the Atlanta Braves brightest young stars: shortstop Andrelton Simmons, and catcher Evan Gattis. Both guys are extremely nice. It was the 2nd time I've met Simmons this year, but first time I was actually able to talk with him some and get a picture. Simmons will no doubt be an All-Star at some point. This was the first time I've met Evan, who was named National League Rookie of the Month for April, 2013, and I think will be a big contender for NL ROY, too.
