Got Tommy Hanson and Rafael Belliard in the mail today. Tommy is, in my opinion, is one of the best young pitchers in the game right now, and Rafael was a legendary shortstop for the Braves in the 1995 World Series.

Picked up 3 Atlanta sports greats in the mail yesterday, Bruce Benedict, Alexei Zhitnik, and Sid Bream. Bruce played for the Braves from 1978-1989, and was an All-Star in 1981 and 1983. In 1982, he had a game where he threw out 3 base stealers in one inning, setting a major league record. Alexei Zhitnik played for the Atlanta Thrashers from 2007-2008, after previously playing for 4 other NHL teams. He signed both my Thrashers cards, and threw in one of his own Buffalo Sabres cards. Class act! And finally, Sid Bream came to the Braves in 1991, and played with them until 1993, helping them to 2 World Series appearances. He will forever be remembered for "The Slide" in Game 7 of the 1992 NLCS.

Got one in-person and one TTM from the sports world today. First, I went to All About Health store in Woodstock, GA, to meet 4-time Mr. Olympia, Jay Cutler. Jay was such an awesome guy. Greeted every one of us who showed up in the cold, the wind, and the rain, and stood outside for 45 minutes or longer. He signed posters, posed for pictures, and chatted it up with us. Wish him all the best in this year's Mr. Olympia. I then got home to find a nice Rich Amaral card. Rich played for the Mariners and Orioles from 1991-2000, and was a steady utility player. He logged at least 40 games at every position except for pitcher and catcher.

Got these sweet Craig Ansman autographs in the mail today. Craig played in the Diamondbacks minor league system and was a really good catcher for them.

Happy Birthday to me! Never have I ever had the opportunity to get autographs on my actual birthday, and I hit the mother load today with the Atlanta Braves Caravan they do every year before heading off to Florida before Spring Training. I was able to secure all of these in person: Tim Hudson, Jonny Venters, Andrelton Simmons, Jason Heyward, new Braves free agent signee B.J. Upton, Mike Minor, Paul Janish, Eric O'Flaherty, bench coach Carlos Tosca, and general manager Frank Wren. What an incredible day! Everyone was so nice, thanked us fans for coming out, and were really super excited to see all the support here in Braves Country.

Got this nice Antonio Alfonseca card in the mail today. Antonio was a big part of the Marlins 1997 World Series championship, and was the National League saves leader in 2000.

Got this nice Don August in the mail today. Don helped Team USA to a silver medal in the 1984 Olympics, and then went on to a nice 4 year career with the Brewers. Was the winning pitcher in the first ever baseball game at SkyDome (now the called the Rogers Centre.)

Got the autographs of Bill Almon and Ruben Amaro in the mail today. Bill was a journeyman utility player who played an amazing 17 years in major league baseball after being the Padres First Round draft pick in 1974. Ruben started out with the Angels and Phillies before becoming a key contributor on that great Indians team of 1995 that won the American League pennant. He is now the GM of the Phillies, and as Assistant GM, helped put together the Phillies team that won the World Series in 2008.
