Yesterday's mail brought me the autograph of Boxing Hall of Famer, Carmen Basilio. Carmen was a 2-time Welterweight Champion of the world, and beat the legendary Sugar Ray Robinson for the World Middleweight title back in 1957.
Big sports autograph weekend for me the past few days. Saturday's mail brought me the autograph of Senior PGA golf legend, Mike Hill. Mike is currently tied for 13th place on the all-time Senior PGA Tour wins list with 18 tournament victories. Then on Sunday, I went to a local card show and secured the autographs in person of former major league baseball pitcher, Adrian Devine, and former NFL stars Ken Burrow and Clarence Scott. Adrian pitched for the Braves and Rangers from 1973-1980, and won 26 games, and saved another 31. Ken played wide receiver for the Falcons from 1971-1975, and was ranked in the top 10 in the NFL in several receiving categories throughout his career. Clarence was a cornerback and a safety for the Browns from 1971-1983, recorded 39 career interceptions, and was a Pro Bowl selection in 1973.
This past Saturday was my first chance to take pics "officially" I posted the ones that I took on the TXWE Facebook page. They seem to have went over well. We were supposed to take pics of the roster, but only about half of them were dressed and ready to go before the show and one jabroni thought that he needed to be compensated for his picture. He told my wife that is the promoter wanted his picture, he would have to be paid or they could just buy one of the 4x6s that he was selling! What an unprofessional d*****!
Hey Russ, how's the promoter liking your photos? Is that going well, or are you getting jobbed?
Took the family out for a great night of TXWE wrestling action! Not only were we treated to some great matches, we also were able to score tons of sigs at intermission! My daughter ended up having her arms signed by the guys and I picked up a few signatures for my p.c., including : an 8x10 of Nerdy Nate vs. The Glass City Saint that I had signed by Saint. I also had a card decoy signed by "The Brotherhood" Tyberius Blaze, Khaos, and "The Natural" Lance Star, and a mini Canada hockey stick signed by "Canada's Finest: Cole Resourt, Darren Dude, and "Gentleman" John Campbell.
Yesterday's mail brought me the autograph of arguably the greatest second basemen in baseball history in Joe Morgan. Joe was a 2 time National League MVP and was voted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1990.
Today's mail brought me the autograph of Hall of Fame pitcher, Jim Bunning, on a Leonard Coleman National League baseball. Plus, I got the autographs of Joey Coulter (2011 NASCAR Truck Series Rookie of the Year,) Chad Hackenbracht (ARCA racing series top-10 driver,) the entire 2003 NAPA Auto Parts Racing Team pit crew, Alex Shelley (former TNA wrestling Tag Team and X Division Champion,) Sonny Siaki (former TNA wrestling X Division Champion,) and Michael Cole (WWE wrestling announcer,) all from my good friend, Russ Robinson! Thank you so much Russ; I think our trade was a win-win for each of us!
I picked up some sweet signed cards at the card show that I went to yesterday! From hockey, I picked up signed cards of Roman Hamrlik, Richard Park, Uwe Krupp, and Steve Thomas. I added signaturs of Bob Watson, Wayne Garrett, Todd Jones, and Darrell Evans for my baseball p.c. The lone basketball signature I picked up was, former Pistons forward, Bill Curley. Wrestling wise, I paicked up signed cards of Simon Dean, William Regal, Sgt. Slaughter, Billy Gunn, Carlito, Kofi Kingston, Daniel Bryan, Evan Bourne (certified Topps 2009), Jimmy and Jay Uso, and C.M. Punk.
