Went to the 9th annual Stark County HS Football HOF Induction dinner last night in Canton, OH. Stark County has the richest HS football in the country and is the only county in the country that has 5 Pro Football HOFer's. Len Dawson, Marion Motley, Paul Brown, Dan Dierdorf, and Alan Page. Last night was another steller class of 6 enshrinees. Mike Doss, (Ohio State & Indianapolis Colts), Kenny Pederson, (Ohio State & Green Bay Packers), Derrick Fox, (Penn State), Mark Murphy (West Liberty State & Green Bay Packers), Steve Luke, (Ohio State & Green Bay Packers), and former High School coach and father of current Denver Bronco's head coach Josh McDaniels,; Tom McDaniels. Other notables in attendance from Stark County included Vince Costello, (Cleveland Browns), Todd Blackledge, (Kansas City Chiefs), former Pittsburgh Steeler Assistant Coach Ron Blackledge, and former Michigan standout and retired Pro Football HOF director Pete Elliott. Everyone is always very friendly at this annual event and all of the enshrinees are always willing to take pictures and sign anything that you would like. It was especially enjoyable for me because I went to high school with Steve Luke. Looking forward to the 10th annueal induction ceremony next year.

Went to the Braves game today for Alumni Sunday. Today's Alumni Sunday featured former Braves pitcher Paul Assenmacher and former Braves infielder Keith Lockhart. Paul pitched for the Braves from 1986-1989, and won 17 games for the Braves and saved another 14 in 226 relief appearances during his time in Atlanta. He went on to have a great career after leaving the Braves, appearing in 2 World Series for the Cleveland Indians in 1995 and 1997, posting a fantastic 1.69 ERA in 9 World Series games. He signed a 1986 Fleer Update baseball card and a 1990 Fleer baseball card I had of him.
Keith was an invaluable backup second and third baseman for the Braves from 1997-2002. He hit .248 during his 6 years with the Braves, and helped lead the Braves to the 1999 National League Championship. I had 2 5x7 pictures of him I had cut out of old Braves team programs that he signed, and he signed a game-used bat of his that I had bought a couple of years ago. Both Keith and Paul were so nice to everyone who came out to the game today.

Just got back from BP Sports in Marietta, GA, after spending a little time with Braves pitcher, Tommy Hanson. He was doing an in-store signing this morning from 12-1, and he couldn't have been nicer. We talked baseball for a few moments, and he signed my 2010 Braves team ball. Considering he didn't have the best of games last night, I was very pleased at how gracious he was to all his fans who showed up today. What a class act by a classy young man.

Nice day today for autographs! I went to the last scheduled Publix Shop with the Braves events today, in Atlanta, GA, and got autographs from Braves pitchers Takashi Saito and Mike Dunn, and Braves outfielder Brent Clevlen. All 3 guys were super nice, posed for pictures, and signed my 2010 Braves team ball project, and a 4x6 photo of themselves they had on hand for the event. Everyone who attended had a great time as we support our Braves in the push for the division title!!!
Then, this afternoon, it was off to the Publix in Canton, GA, for a Falcons Tail Gate Team event. By purchasing 5 selected brand Kraft products, I was elegible for the raffle drawing for tickets to the Falcons/Buccaneers game and got to select something from their free gift table. Well, I did not get the tickets, but I did score a nice autographed 8x10 of Falcons offensive guard Harvey Dahl! All in all, I'd say it was a nice day!

Got back today my 1966 Topps card of former Detroit Tigers, New York Mets, and Philadelphia Phillies catcher, John Sullivan. John played for 5 seasons, and hit for a career average of .228, but during his career, he faced 9 Hall of Fame pitchers (Drysdale, Marichal, Gibson, Jenkins, Neikro, Bunning, Palmer, Hunter, and Perry,) and hit for an outstanding .308 batting average against those guys!

Today, I received a 2005 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites card signed in blue Sharpie by Miami Dolphins great, Manny Fernandez. Manny played 8 seasons in the NFL, and recorded 35 sacks, while playing in 3 Super Bowls, winning 2 of them. He was a part of the famed "No Name Defense" which helped lead the 1972 Dolphins to the only perfect season in NFL history, 17 wins and 0 losses.
