From the looks of it I would say that this was possibly signed by Lou Gehrig's wife. Please see the below link and do a comparison. The spacing between the first and last name, the L in Lou and the last g in Gehrig show that it was more than likely not done in his hand.
Towards the end of his life when he lost control of his coordination his wife signed many autographs for him.
