Diane Keaton, pseudonym Diane Hall (Los Angeles, January 5, 1946), is an American actress, film producer, director and writer. She began her career in the theatre, and then made her film debut in 1970. She got her first notable part playing Kay Adams in The Godfather (1972), reprized in The Godfather - Part II (1974), and became definitively consecrated thanks to the association artistic with Woody Allen. The fourth film in which Keaton and the American director collaborated, Annie Hall, earned the actress success at the 1978 Oscars as best actress and the victory of a Golden Globe and the BAFTA Award. She later dedicated herself to work that allowed her to no longer be identified by the public solely and exclusively as the protagonist of Allen's films. She established herself as an accomplished dramatic actress in 1977's Looking for Mr. Goodbar and earned three further Academy Award nominations for Best Actress for her performances in Reds, Marvin's Room and Something's Gotta Give . In 1990 she returned to play Kay Adams in The Godfather Part III. The films in which Keaton has participated have earned over 1.1 billion dollars in North America alone.
