Conklin was one of the silent era's bigger names, as he was a 'Keystone Cop' and was in many productions with Charlie Chaplin ... a lifelong friend. He was a king of slapstick, and some maintain that he took more pies in the face than any other actor. He appeared in two of Chaplin's classics: "Modern Times" and "The Great Dictator". Although he continued working in pictures, his career declined with the advent of sound.
